I usually have a pie for lunch a few times a week, then this place opened, and for a similar price, I get beautifully made, straight-out-of-the-oven Lebanese pasties. This place is seriously good, and pretty much the only Lebanese food on this side of town.

A day with seniors today snd a very nice day it was to. But, they werenât asking me for cafe recommendations and thatâs how we ended up at Billyâs Lounge. Its current three rating would have excluded it from my list if Iâd been choosing places to go. Iâm not always right of course. Sometimes itâs good to go to a place like this just to help gauge how good much of the rest of Melbourneâs food scene is.So, how was it then. Iâd say just ok and largely endorse the current low or mid range rating. Iâd give it 2.7, just above a pass. Itâs a pleasant open cafe/bistro with a modern fit out. It was doing a very good trade when we arrived and we were told we might have to wait up to 20 minutes for our meals. The menu looked ok with some reasonable sounding dishes on it. We were served quickly and pleasantly. I started with a coffee which was average but ok, I thought. No prizes but no no major problems either. I had the chilli scrambled eggs for main. It had decent heat but with an unusual spice or spices which left a slightly odd after taste. On the plus size the dish was moderately well presented and was a decent size. There was a good serve of bacon as Iâd added that as an extra. The grilled chilli on top of the dish was a nice touch. The egg itself in the dish was cooked reasonably well.I also tried the bruschetta. Iâve never encountered one like it. The tomato was cut into long slices instead of being diced. The bread (not toast) barely had any oil on it so it hadnât softened and was excessively chewy. The method did not make it easy or pleasant to eat. On the plus side one of our party had the arancini balls and enjoyed them. Overall, itâs an average place for me with fairly prosaic food. But, it was a pleasant and convenient place in the middle of Westfield Doncaster to prop and have a nice catch up.

Loved this place and found it through the Entertainment Book! The breakfast I ordered was scrumptious and my friend had the French Toast which was truly yum!Needs a booking as itâs quite limited seating and the car park is small too.Highly recommend for something special.

We had a business meeting at this place and really enjoyed their lamb salad. My colleague ordered the burger on beetroot brioche bun with very nice hot chips on the side. Serving is huge and worth the price. Service was good. We will definitely visit this place again.

The menu descriptions sounded delicious, but when the dishes came out we were horrified - we thought they made a mistake and brought out something from a kids' menu. seriously! For $16.90 a plate from the lunch menu, you would expect a decent sized portion. I ordered a lamb dish and I could not see a single piece of lamb in it, just a big ball of flour and cheese sitting in some tomato sauce. The inside was cold and while the staff were very helpful and and brought me another one; just good service alone could not save the situation. We paid way too much for what looked like stuff that came out from the frozen food supermarket aisles, heated or fried up. The burger was small , grilled chicken inside it was dry and tasteless and didn't look grilled; fish and chips were so puny in portion my 2-year old could finish it. Simply horrific experience that has left a very bad taste in my mouth. If we hadn't paid already, I would have refused to pay. The wait staff are not to fault, I just can't believe the business owners dare to operate like this! Even the cakes were on the pricier side when there are better-tasting ones elsewhere. Go elsewhere.
We have been going to Cafe21 on and off for many years and Mario and Susie consistently serve up wholesome, family inspired meals backed up by friendly service. The coffee has improved over time and the cakes and pastries are always a welcome treat. It's very interesting to note that the (trendy) cafe next door has gone through at least five changes of ownership in the time that Mario and Susie have owned Cafe21 and I think shows that they must be doing something right!! See you again very soon.

Modern European restaurant serving Breakfast & Lunch, 7 days per week. Sophisticated interior with elegant park surrounds. Extensive outdoor and alfresco seating. Perfect for large bookings. Excellent quality food with genuine friendly service. A must try
Celebrated a friendâs birthday last week, and had dinner here. The food was reasonably priced and the staff were helpful and friendly. I had the seafood paella, and so did the birthday girl.Am planning to come back soon.

We were happy to stumble across this café which was the only one open early morning Sunday. Nice coffee and great bacon and egg sandwiches. Cozy atmosphere inside with friendly and efficient staff. Happy to recommend and look forward to returning.
