Having endured 20 years of struggle for independence from Indonesia, East Timor's coastal capital, Dili, has made remarkable strides toward reconstruction after innumerable damages and losses. Its former Portuguese colonial flavor can still be found in remaining villas and churches along the waterfront, as well as the 65-foot statue of Jesus overlooking the coast, reminiscent of Cristo Redentor in Rio Di Janeiro. The waterfront parks and white sand beaches are popular for diving and relaxing.

The price is up to about $7.50 now but it's still worth it for a good Portuguese/Asian selection including salads, stews and great fried fish (tip: the lasagna is NEVER good). I also go there for breakfast (which stupidly finishes at 10am) as I like the omelettes but, strangely, the coffee is very mediocre.
This resto gets straight to the point... no frills and unpretentious... but it is really good! Dishes are moderately priced including their specials. A must try in Dili!
I came across Kafè BCB while walking down to visit the Resistance Museum in Dili. What drew my attention to the place was an amazing aroma of coffee being grounded.I ordered an espresso and enjoyed sip by sip what has to be the best tasting coffee I have tried anywhere in my travels through Asia. And I paid only a dollar a cup!Their food menu was also a very pleasant surprise.Everything from Pizza, Jumbo hot dogs, Malaysian chicken curry, schnitzel, big breakfast- listed as the "hangover special" and many other interesting and different foods to choosed from....all priced at $5 and under.Suited my budget. The lady making the coffee was friendly as was Robert, the retired Ozzie, who explained he set up the cafe to help with his daughter's education and help the coffee lady improve her and her family's life.I sat under a big mango tree and listen to some great Brazilian music coming from the Zeitu Burger bar opposite the cafe.I also met some Peace Corps volunteers who have an office across the road and got some good information from them about travelling to the districts.I drank and ate there for three days in a row and next time I am back in Dili it's going to be my regular place to visit.
Where to eat Bar food in Dili: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Great coffee was enjoyed as well as a couple of cakes for morning tea, mostly outdoor covered seating at the Timor Plaza outlet, free Wi-Fi and ceiling fans as well
Ok, I have to admit that I liked this place so much I went here every day for lunch! But it looks like many expat business people did also as by 1pm it was pretty crowded. The food, coffee, service, decor were all very Western, prices pretty low and the menu of the day food almost local price. But the internet was amazingly fast when compared to what is usually on offer in Dili.

Had two meals here and a few coffees. It was close by the hotel, so convenience was a main factor. The meals were reasonably good, coffee western style. Desserts were nice.I really liked the banana-coffee smoothies/milkshakes. They were great. The building itself is nice, and it was pleasant to sit out on the patio. Only downside was the smokers.

Healthy, delicious, sustainable lifestyle food.
This is a breakfast/lunch venue only. The Aussie owners are really investing in the local community by training staff and developing a vegetarian option in Dili. The food is tasty and with a daily changing special ($9) there is always something new to try. Whilst not a full time vegetarian it is a nice change to come to Wesa'e and try their offerings. It is not a big venue and at lunch is very popular, so if wanting to eat-in you may be disappointed when all the tables are taken. Absolutely worth a visit and prices are reasonable.Thank you so much for your review GOCFE! :)

Welcome to Rolls n Bowls! Our eatery aims to deliver good quality and tasty Asian food which focuses heavily on the Vietnamese dishes. Some of our customer's favourite are Pho Bo and Vietnamese Salad. Pho is gently cooked for 16+ hours straight with bone
Itâs hard to be vegetarian or vegan when youâre travelling sometimes. A friend put me onto this place the last time I was in Dilii and we tried the tofu banh mi, and fresh and deep friend veggie spring rolls. All totally scrumptious!
