Those who love breakfast will love this place. I have tried so many good things here it is hard to remember them all; chocolate chip pancakes, blueberry pancakes, egg sandwich, biscuits and gravy, just to name a few. Everything is good and savory. Many locals and regulars there at all times during breakfast. Priced quite well, also.

We enjoyed a delightful lunch for 4 at PANERA BREAD (aka ST. LOUIS BREAD COMPANY) in Decatur, IL. The servers were friendly, patient, and helpful. The menu offers selections for all appetites, tastes, and dietary preferences. The "You Choose 2" provides a very generous salad portion combined with either a half sandwich or soup of your choice. Our food was (as usual) fresh and delicious! A very clean, pleasant atmosphere added to our enjoyment.

While visiting relatives in Mt. Zion Illinois, I discovered this coffee shop. Located in a nondescript shopping strip, Black Iron offers superb coffee and wonderful pastries. Their menu has teas, wraps, and other goodies. I went for the coffee and returned the next day for more coffee and a wonderful scone. The coffee did not disappoint. It is rich, flavorful, and robust. Brewed perfectly. The shop has tables and high tops where folks could sit and chat. And there is a drive-up window with a brisk business. I especially liked the staff. All were cheerful and helpful with great smiles. The atmosphere was buoyant. Awesome coffee, great menu, and lovely space for chilling and chatting. In addition, the shop sells bulk teas and coffees, plus some of the accessories for preparing these. A splendid place. If you are wondering around Decatur, Illinois, and its environs, in search of coffee, you should visit the shop. A great place.
