Coonoor ( pronunciation (help·info)) is a Taluk and a municipality in the Nilgiris district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is known for its production of Nilgiri tea. Coonoor is located at an altitude of 1,850 m (6,070 ft) above sea level, and is the second largest hill station in the Nilgiri hills after Ooty. It is an ideal base for a number of trekking expeditions leading into the Nilgiris. The nearest airport is Coimbatore International Airport about 79 km from Coonoor town. As of 2011, the town had a population of 45,494. Coonoor is also home to the Pasteur Institute of India, which is responsible for producing Anti-rabies Vaccine and DPT group of Vaccines for the Expanded Program of Immunization of Government of India.

Very tasty food. Tried their Pizza Pasta Sandwiches and the sizzling ice cream brownie is the best I have ever had.There are 3 other restaurants in the complex belonging to Nahar, you can also order food sitting there to be brought from Side walk cafe. They oblige. Don't miss if you are looking for tasty vegetarian comfort food when in Ooty.

The worst machine made coffee i ever had.Do not visit this place at all,as it is not at all a cafe.The young man running this place does not even know what coffee means in south India.Even a 15 rs road side typical filter coffee of south India is much better in taste.snacks were awful as well.My children orderd some French Fries and cookies,and both awfully tasteless and very expensive for the qualityHi, We are sorry you disliked the place so much. it's the first time we have heard someone dislike the food, especially the cookies. Regarding the coffee, well, if you had read the menu you would have seen that we DID have freshly brewed coffee, which is often referred to as filter coffee.
