June's Tea Rooms And Home Bakery

This was a delightful experience just like going to granny's for tea. There is a wonderful homeliness here with the oil cloths on the tables. The coffee here is excellent. I had the Pavlova that was generous and tasted delicious. June herself was the perfect, caring hostess. On the dresser there are many different cakes displayed for purchase to take home. There is ample outside seating for the fine day. The gardens are well manicured and have a flower for all seasons. This is a ten minute drive from Knock and also equi distant from Knock airport. The prices are very kind indeed and excellent value.

If you're around Claremorris or even nearby stopping for a fish'n chips or a burger at Val's is a must, something you'd regret if you had not. Gregarious and familiar atmosphere, Val's precious advice on the special of the day, their delicious smoked cod, one of the best you can find in Ireland, are the main ingredients for a cozy and heartwarming atmosphere and a nice and quick (only if you're rushing away) meal.

An unexpectedly pleasant lunch before a match at Ballyhaunis included a tasty cheesey blt, lovely crisp potato wedges and deliciius homemade mushroom soup. Due to a call one of our coffees had cooled down and was immediately replaced free of charge. We were invited to enter tge local raffle being drawn that day and won a bottle of Baileys! We came here for a mid morning cuppa. There is a welcoming energy here as well as the staff welcome. Tables are nicely spaced with colourful oilcloths. The pottery was a really fine colour with everything matching. We had cappucini with some gluten free toast for me. They had a few gluten free offerings but nothing homemade. The atmosphere was wonderful with plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy. Yes, a return visit is in order

Cafe le Cheile

Lovely, restaurant in one corner of the ever-improving Shrine. Menu comprehensive and staff very helpful BUT service should be more based on carvery-style i.e. customers line up with trays at counter/display and order as the queue passes the display up to the Checkout. Therefore, no waiting for waitress service - though it's fast enough.Thank you for your lovely comments. I can tell you the Café did try queuing at the counter last year but it was not a success at all. Bear in mind we have many elderly & disabled customers who would find it difficult to manage carrying a tray of food & drinks. We have excellent waiting staff & do try to deliver orders as fast as possible. We can also interact more with our customers that way.
