Visited for morning coffee, always found the staff genuinely friendly and cheerful and ready to chat, despite being situated in one of the more touristy (but pretty) parts of town. Table in the shade just outside the door perfect for writing postcards as you admire the vastly beautiful 'ficus benjamin' fig tree after which the cafe is named. A lovely spot. Tasty savouries and dolci are available too, and some books, English language, if that's your thing.

Bar Agora is probably the best place to eat & drink in Castellammare del Golfo. You can get excellent snacks/sandwiches during the daytime and there is a very good evening menu with Pizza & Pasta. There is also a Buffet menu at lunch. The prices are also very good with Panini's between â¬2-â¬3 and coffee â¬1-â¬1.50. I will say that the staff here are probably the friendliest in town. We have been on an extended stay in the town for 4 months and frequent this place 4-5 times a week. Totally recommend Bar Agora

We were in Castellammare for two days and ended up here both days. The service is very helpful and friendly and we followed the recommendation for a Marsala, which was excellent and very good value, the wine after that was also very good. The atmosphere inside (it was pouting with rain) is very chic and appealing. and unlike some places the seating is spaced generously so even when it is busy, which it was, you don't bump into guests at other tables. The complimentary side dishes are very tasty and generous. Definitely worth seeking out.

Absolutely worth trying the cassatelle (or cassateddi in Sicilian)! We stopped at this local treasure and stocked up while on a read-trip. Great pastry. The problem with these ricotta cream turnovers, which are ricotta-filled turnovers common in the eastern part of Sicily and specific to the town of Trapani, is that they are hard to resist and even harder to stop at only one. A lot of locals eating at this cafe which is always a good sign.

We had a snack lunch here. Wonderful arancini - crispy on the outside, unctuous and creamy on the inside. Very friendly and helpful staff, despite our lack of Italian. Good Wi-Fi reception for checking those messages. Just the job.
