My mom had an envie (that's Cajun for hankering) for some gumbo and we came into Chicory's knowing they had lunch specials and coffee. Not only did they serve a delicious gumbo that made mom very happy but other entrees that appealed to the rest of our group. The service is friendly and attentive - my mother longed for a slice of French bread and our waitress brought her son pronto. Chicorys has also been so supportive of the community, including hosting Festival of Words literary events. As for the place - there's fun local artwork, a comfy couch if you just want to sip coffee and talk, and a library of sorts where you can choose a book or two. I can't recommend this place enough.

Breakfast at the Scott, LA Coffee Depot on Sat 10/06/2018 around 8:45am was our first visit based on the good Trip Advisor reviews. It was packed. We loved it. Staff was very friendly, food was excellent, and prices very reasonable. Our cost before tip was $23.53; We highly recommend this place and hope to return on our next trip.Parking is challenging, but once a spot opened up, we were met with a friendly smile and immediately seated in the former train depot adorned with memorabilia. They use an annoying train whistle to advise waitresses food ready, We loved it.I had scambled eggs with toast and the best crispy bacon I've probably ever had at a restaurant. Got a carmel expresso coffee that was so good I got another one to go. Wife also had scrambled eggs and bacon with a biscuit that was home made and warm. Coffee and delicious grits also came with her meal. The wife was pleased. We hope we have the chance to eat here again.

I was greeted by 3 or 4 employees upon entering which started my dining experience off on the right foot.My waitress was great as was my food..... served quickly and with a smile.Located across the street from a TA Travel Plaza, so if you're stopping in for fuel, you might as well go here for breakfast.

Dwyer's was always a place i wanted to eat at, but never made it on time. The lunch selection is varied and portions humongous. The food is delicious, the fried chicken and smothered steak outstanding. I now have it on my favourites list.

Some coworkers and so were in town for Advanced Firefighting training at SMS this week. We were looking for a hearty Cajun lunch to carry us through the day and boy was this it! Two of us had the BBQ pork and chicken which was special in its own way. The other two guys got burgers and they claimed with a straight face that these were the best burgers they have ever had! Price was very reasonable and friendly service. Seating is limited inside so arrive early or enjoy the outside seating area. We are coming back again this week for some more of their tasty cuisine!
