With so many competitors locally offering a great choice I had high hopes. My food was perfectly acceptable but was neither particularly good value or able to stand out from a flavour perspective.Solid but wouldn't be my first choice if eating in this complex.

Good for a quick bite. The whole street is full of places to snack so you are spoilt for choice.Bit expensive.

We attended a private birthday celebration there and goodness, how lovely it was. The abundance table was outstanding with wonderful textures and taste combinations and enough variety to satisfy the most critical of guests. Seamless service and courtesy. The manager even walked us to our car to make sure we were safe. We'll be back for sure!
I can say we were really pleased with our dining experience in the Hill Cafe restaurant. We stopped there for lunch during our visit to the Constitution Hill. The restaurant has an outdoor and indoor section. We opted for enjoying the beautiful weather and having our lunch outdoors. The service was a bit slow but the menu was interesting , the food very good and the atmosphere friendly. I liked the food presentation as well. Some patrons were playing table games - to play one needs to put down a temporary deposit.
Beautiful outdoor seating. Menu offers a great variety. Enjoyed breakfast... loved... the French toast with bacon ... one of the best I have eaten. A variety of cakes on display for eleven oâclock tea... a little box of pure delight. Going back... for sure.. âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸. Service impeccable.

Casual Cafe dining.
Our visit to Velo Cafe left a very sour taste in my mouth. We were there for Saturday morning brunch and almost nothing worked out. When our drinks arrived (coffee and hot chocolate) they were lukewarm. How? How do you bring lukewarm drinks to customers? Then when the breakfast arrived the mushrooms were cold, the poached eggs tasted like vinegar and the meal was generally unappetising. As we were sitting outside there was a whif of urine in the air that was hard to ignore. When the bill arrived there was a tip already included. Now for a table of 6 this is understandable... but there were four of us. When we enquired about this we were told that the waiters don't get a basic salary and so for all bills of R200 or more a tip is automatically included in the bill. I couldn't believe it! Surely an hourly rate should be standard in line with Labour Laws and secondly this is something that should be communicated to patrons in advance. Not cool Velo Cafe, not cool.

Walking up a busy stretch in Braamfontein looking for lunch, Daleahs was busy and the food looked great so we popped in.Thankfully they could seats us, and we had a bacon, guacamole etc sandwich and a twisted chicken sandwich. Both were lovely, service was good, and the prices were fantastic - I know Sth Africa is good value, but this was fabulous.
