So,,, we are staying in Rhosneigr (Anglesey) in a beautiful house with superb sea views. Today (Tuesday) we didn't fancy another day on the beach (strange you can say that with a British summer but the weather has been very good!), so we decided to visit Bangor on the mainland. We had seen lots of good things about Whistlestop - their flyers, their promo cards and reviews in the holiday information left at the holiday house. The place is about 40 minutes travelling from the west coast of Anglesey to Bangor, but hey ! who cares? we're going to chow down on local welsh produce, try 'scuffins' and all the reviews are great! What can possibly go wrong?Well, they were closed! Nothing in any of the advertising about being closed on Tuesdays, in the height of the holiday season! Now I'm sure the food is great but an eighty minute round trip to walk along a dingy pier thinking how nice it might have been is not the best day out!Whistlestop owners - PLEASE sort out your opening times in your advertising!!!!!!!!It's a sod's law story I'm afraid you happened to decide to visit the very day we decided to change our opening hours we made the change on trip advisor and Facebook at 11 am last Tuesday Please accept our apologies for your inconvenience we always advise customers to give us a call anyway the number is on our trip advisor and face book site and it's my number so please give me a call and I'll make sure you're ok next time

Just killing time in Bangor for afternoon, town a bit grim but this little cafe is a hidden gem! Having walked up and down the main high street spotted this cafe down a side street. Casual cafe, good service, welcoming staff freshly cooked meals and good coffee. Had homemade quiche of the day with a fresh salad. All delicious and swift service. Reasonably priced too. Casual menu with breakfast/brunch, sandwiches, burgers and salads, afternoon teas and tapas. All looked good.

Popped in before with my little dog , had a lovely flat white, served with peanut butter pretzels on the side, I opted for the house salad, it was lovely. Staff and service was spot on. Lovely relaxed atmosphere . I noticed they had on menu glamorgan sausages , are they veggie sausages or meat free? I will be back, going to have the minestrone soup next .I Wish llandudno had a little cafe that sells veggie food like thisHi there, thank you for taking the time to ask the question, here's the Wiki on Glamorgan sausage: Glamorgan sausage is a traditional Welsh vegetarian sausage for which the main ingredients are cheese, leeks and breadcrumbs. It is named after the historic county of Glamorgan in Wales.Look forward to your return, all the best

Chick pea coronation salad was delicious and the other two meals we ordered were great too. Coffee was also worth the trip alone. Very friendly place, dogs v welcome too

I've been to many of the coffee shops in the area, and Caffi Seren serves the best coffee of all of them! Proper cup of tea, too :)Prices are reasonable. There's normally a variety of nice cakes and snacks to choose from. The food is very good, with generous portions.Staff are all friendly and helpful. There's a pavement seating area outside, where you can get a view up the High Street towards the mountains behind.Highly recommend this place!

Fitzpatricks Cafe

I'd love to love this place, but it always just falls short of the mark. Forget about the motorcycle theme and the old bikes, and concentrate on getting the food a little better. The service is always just about right, and the place has a good feel, but it needs just a little more energy to get it better than average. There isn't anything really to dislike, as the food is acceptable and good value, but I'm always left feeling a little underwhelmed. Sorry!
