Reviews on Cafe food in Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany. Like Rome, Bamberg sits on seven hills, though these are lush, green Bavarian ones. You’ll find all sorts of architecture here, so enjoy exploring the cobbled streets. Plenty of shopping and museums await you, as do nine different breweries. The city loves markets and festivals, especially around Christmas.

Das Beckstein cafe has been a Bamberg institution for many years. We came here for coffee and cake on a recent afternoon. There was not a big selection of cake or torte but nevertheless we found something we liked. The cheesecake with streusel was different and delicious. The "Schlotfeger", a thin chocolate pastry shell filled with fresh whipped cream was exactly as I remembered from my childhood. My favorite was the poppyseed cake. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. A very pleasant coffee break indeed.

I have been here multiple times, as it is on the way to school, but I have yet to receive pleasant service. They act as if we as the customer are taking away time that they could use elsewhere. I don't go any more as the last 3 times I got different servers, and the service ranged from unpleasant to terse.

The location, close to the Alte Rathaus, is very good. However, the tables are crammed very closely together. The ice cream I had â strawberry, lemon, mango â was good, but the whipped cream seemed a bit chalky. My guess is that you can find better ice cream places in Bamberg.

Cafe Abseits is the best place in Bamberg for tasting German beer. You can drink around 60 different types of beer i.E. Dark and black beers named Kloster Brewery Andechser Dunkles, Schlenkerla, Fischer Rauchbier and Weiherer Rauch (smoke beers), Weizenbi
Abseits does translate as "apart", "secluded" or "remote".Bamberg has a world culture heritage cityscape and so many many toursist visit it - particularly in summer. Most of the central restaurants and guesthouses are crowded and very busy.If you´re willing to walk a while, you will not only see more of the town, and how people live, but you may also come to this fine place. Abseits. The choice of beers made me enquire if there were guest rooms available (sadly not so) because I would not have minded staying here all evening, testing more variations of Franconian beers. The food was good. There is a dish of the day and a pleaseant choice of other meals. The outdoor seating is lovely. The staff are humorous and friendly.I shall come back.

New café with a laid-back atmosphere on ERBA island. There is a playground just next to the Café, so it's ideal for parents with kids. Nevertheless it's not noisy, so it's also a good place if you need a well-earned break from everyday stress. The interior decor is really cute, but on a sunny summer day I'd opt for a seat on the terrace. Apart from fair-trade coffee, tea, Bavarian/Franconian beer and fizzy drinks, they offervery yummy paninis and superb tartes (if you're not on a diet try the chocolate tarte, if you are, try it anyway). Breakfast wasn't availavble yet, when I visited, but I'll definitely come back some time soon.Best of all, as it is a vegan/vegetarian place serving fair-trade and local products: I can enjoy all these tasty treats with a clean consience.
This is a resto serving breakfast. The weather was great and we decided to have breakfast outside. The menu is inside on the wall. It may not make sense in the beginning. Let me help you: you get a huge slice of lovely bread. A mix of salad and more is topping your bread. The flavours, ingredients are so well composed and complement to each other which makes it a special experience. I have never had this before. Absolutely recommendable. Get surprised!

The Seel is one of our regular and favorite stops in Bamberg. We visited there with our family yesterday. Everyone found something that they loved. The renovated facility retains the charm of the old facility and adds a bit of humor to the ambiance if you can read German. If not, ask someone to translate for you.

This is a quaint, lovely little coffee and dessert place. Lots of things to look at and purchase if you wanted. Coffees were served in china cups which added to the ambiance of the occasion. Desserts were decadent and they had vegan options. Highly recommended for a break in your visit or stay in Bamberg.
