Disappointed with our hotel breakfast we came across this café just a 2 min drive from the hotel. They bake all their wares on site and the food is just superb. At 4.50 euros for breakfast , or select from their large range of sweet and savoury tarts and danish offerings. Many different coffees and teas to choose from and they will do take-aways and lunch pack-ups. Clean, modern facilities and the staff are a delight. No English spoken but appreciated our poor German attempts!

Other than the yellow jackets swarming our table, which were plaguing restaurants all over Germany, this was the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely weekend breakfast. Situated right on Staufen's central plaza next to the town hall, be sure and sit outside where you can savor your buffet breakfast while people watching. (Don't miss Saturday market!) The buffet choices are typical for breakfast in Germany...cold cuts, cheese, rolls, eggs, fruit...not too heavy on the sweets. (There are plenty of non-buffet baked goods for purchase.) My caramel latte was LECKER...not too strong, not too sweet. Service was quietly functional. I must say it was kind of fascinating to watch the yellow jackets carve off massive pieces of our leftover cold cuts and fly off trembling with excitement and sheer exhaustion.

This relatively new restaurant opened spring 2019. Brand new interior and an included shop with Italian specialties made a great concept. All service personnel was very friendly and attentive. Food came quickly and in large portions. Everything tasted authentically Italian and was home made. Is this a helpful review? We waited quite a while for service and when we received the food, the portions were very small. The bread was stale. When we complained about the service, the owner came out and actually started to yell making us feel as if we had no right to express our concerns. Then her husband came out and did the same, in fact he invaded our space and literally shoved us out the door as soon as we paid. It was a truly awful experience.
