The food is consistently very good. The selection of loose leaf teas is comprehensive. The staff are attentive and sincerely welcoming. The tearoom itself is delightfully furnished, located in a beautiful building in the centre of Arundel. We have returned several times already and without doubt will visit it again. Highly recommended for both a spontaneous cup of tea and a scone or for more formal get-togethers. Iâm pleased to say itâs also dog friendly.

Gaskyns is a family run licenced cafe. We pride ourselves in our homemade cakes and dishes and the quality of the ingredients which we use, many of which are locally sourced. We have easy access for pushchairs and wheelchairs as well as baby changing faci
We visited as a family of 5 whilst on the way to the Arundel festival and arrived late morning. The breakfast/lunch menu looked ok and the staff were nice but the food was poor. The mushrooms with the breakfast were dried instead of fried and the offered poached eggs were not available and the fried alternative not cooked properly. I wasnât convinced that the bacon was cooked properly either. If this is just been one plate it might have been a mistake but all our meals were poor. Disappointing. We are sorry that you think you had a bad experience at Gaskyns but the festival was some time ago and I'm not entirely sure you have the right place as we don't offer poached eggs on our menu. If, however, it was with us then I am very sorry you were not happy. However, it is disappointing that you didn't let our staff know at the time. As we would have been more than happy to sort it out at the time.

Bagels and Coffee is a small family run business that serves fresh bagels, italian roast coffee and a traditional hungarian desert, "Chimney Cake" ore as the hungarians call it, Kurtos Kalacs.
So intrigued by the descripton of the chimney cakes I bought a chocolate dusted one. Incredible looking - like a huge chimney surpisingly - and very very tasty! Hope this place stays open for ever.

We are a café on the river Arun, we think we have the best view in Arundel! We serve fresh cut bread for your sandwiches and everything is made to order, so either wash down with hot drink or a glass of wine or beer. The cakes are all made on the premises
We came to Arundel for a visit and spotted this place as we were parking the car. We didn't see the full extent of the seating until we walked round the corner from the car park and really enjoyed coffee/orange juice and a lovely piece of cake sat at a table by the river in the sunshine watching the swans and cygnets go by. Very reasonable prices and very friendly staff.Lovely review thank you

Traditional tea room in the heart of Arundel.
Quality location and warm welcome on arrival. As we arrived we were informed that window seats were avaialbe in the upper floor which was very helpful. Traditional style setting in the front room and more contemporary in the rear room so should suit just about anyone. The quality of the service was excellent, the tea and the cakes/scones were excellent and it was a dog friendly establishment. Certainly a place we would return to if in the area again anytime soon.

This is a very small café, in a good position near the river, with not much space between tables. Service was very poor, we had to cancel our food order as we had finished the tea and still not served our food.Inundated with wasps inside, not their fault but really unpleasant for everyone.

A casual but glamorous cafe in the heart of beautiful Arundel. We serve delicious toasted sandwiches, fantastic British charcuterie and cheeses, cream teas and great cakes; some gluten free. A contemporary interior and a warm welcome awaits.
My friends picked this cafe for coffee and cake and it was nice, there was a choice of cakes and gluten free for my friend. I had a toasted tea cake which was nice and the girls had gateau. The coffee was nice and service good. The decor looks newish I guess they will work their way down the stairs before the toilet. All good thank you.Hello, thanks very much for your review - we're so glad you enjoyed your coffee and cake. Extraordinarily enough the stairs down to the loo were decorated at the same time as everything else - but we have the pleasure (and pain) of being tenants in a period building, which gives us lovely light and room proportion but the usual Georgian damp basement....!

Traditional Tea Room
We called in for coffee on arriving in Arundel and were made to feel so welcome that we decided to go back later in the afternoon for the full afternoon tea experience. We had salmon and cream cheese sandwiches as well as egg mayo followed by very large scones (plain for me and fruit for my husband) all washed down with a plentiful pot of tea. This was £9.50 for each and if we had had room we could have had a slice of one of the delicious looking cakes available for an extra £1.50 each. They also sell a few cards and craft items and were doing a roaring trade of their ice-creams which had some interesting flavours. The lady in charge was really lovely and told us a little about the festival which was taking place and what else we should see apart from the castle.

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Motte & Bailey Cafe Trip Advisor page. Motte & Bailey Cafe is a traditional Cafe nestled in the heart of beautiful, historic Arundel. We open at 8.30am every day (except Sunday when we open at 9am) to make and serve
A lunchtime rush promised much yet delivered very little: a brief half an hour was spent in the cafe yet despondency amongst staff left customers feeling like an inconvenience. Requests for condiments were met with barely concealed irritation. The meals were adequate at best but there was disparity between the price of the food and what was delivered. Having ordered a dairy-free drink due to a lactose intolerance, a regular dairy drink was delivered. On querying the origins of the milk, staff bizarrely asked whether the lactose-intolerant customer would like to finish the drink. A further request for separate bills was met with clenched teeth and a barely concealed sigh. This constant neediness simply added a further dreary layer of tedium to the apparently already bored staffâs troublesome shift from hell. Apologies for inconveniencing you all.

Had breakfast here two mornings on the trot while staying in the town. Much better prices than hotels very close by and in my opinion you couldnât get a better breakfast. Small English breakfast that didnât seem too small to me. Friendly staff in a nice atmosphere located in the middle of town. I would definitely recommend eating here.
