The Cornucopia on West Lincolnway is located in a building with a large home decor area. The restaurant is in the former bar and dining area of the long-standing but now defunct Broiler Restaurant. On Mondays-Wednesdays, they serve only lunch and drink items; Thursdays-Saturdays, dinners also. Closed on Sundays. We did not know the shorter hours on a Wednesday evening, but they kindly served us lunch items even though it was close to the 6:00 closing time. The sandwiches, salads, and soups were excellent.
We found this place by accident while staying at the adjacent Best Western. Recently renovated and expanded. Best coffee in town and breakfast is amazing!
Smooth drinks, great eats, this place is the best! The owner makes coffee the right way is amazing at service. It has a chill vibe and live bands couple nights a week/month! If you want the best coffee/latte /etc you have ever tasted this is the place to go!! There are a ton of unique flavors all are pretty awesome!
We bake fantastic bread, make great sandwiches, and our sweets are amazing. We mill our own wheat on site and make all of our bread and sweets by hand. Come in and check out our huge cinnamon rolls!
We stopped with our 3 and 7 year-old on our way home from Colorado. We were craving something healthier than standard interstate exit options. What a gem of a place! Fresh-baked bread where they grind the wheat themselves. The tomato basil soup was the best I have had. I also had the turkey melt and it was so fresh and flavorful. The Asiago basil and raisin cinnamon chip breads are so good! Definitely make the drive from the interstate if youâre in town. You wonât be disappointed!

Incredibly excited to have Cabin Coffee in Ames. They stopped by our office last week prior to their opening with coffee, drinks and sandwiches. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Yesterday, I had their chicken salad on a croissant and it was fantastic. This morning I stopped for a cup of Wrangler coffee and it was great. The Berry Good Turkey Sandwich is also very good. I will be there often for coffee and lunch.

Refreshing, country style, dining experience in downtown Ames at an authentic retro-diner. Friendly, family run business. Everything we ate for breakfast was freshly made in plain view and delicious. Bottomless cups of coffee with attentive owners ensuring we were well taken care of. Return visit next time we are in the area.

Coffee was awesome. Scone okay The quiche was cheese deficient, heavy on purple onions and sliced ham. Reheated in a microwave as it had shrunk in from the edges and was dry. The French toast had little evidence of a soak in egg, tasted like a slice of sourdough. Disappointing. Why do restaurants serve fruit that isn't ripe? Ugg

My wife, daughter and I had dinner here. After a busy Saturday we were hungry and ready for a dinner. At 5:15 pm, we were still able to get a great seat. The beer selection was plentiful but not over whelming. The beers were priced fairly. We all selected one of the great burgers. All came with some of their great and tasty in-restaurant fries. We enjoyed the home made bun. Each hamburger was unique and very flavorful. After eating the meal and having a beer, we had no room for dessert. The wait staff was very attentive to our every needs. We sat in rear of the restaurant and had a great view of the room. Nice place within walking distance of the Iowa state campus in Ames.

My husband and I love this place. It is worth the wait when there is one which is frequent. The menu always changes and I live the variety. Found has always been good every time weâve been there. The atmosphere is wonderful. We go here almost every time we are in Ames.
