Set up in a container is the Hio cafe which changes their menu daily. We were a group of 6 adults and all had the fish burger which was well received by everyone. Fresh coconuts are cut open so you can eat the flesh out too. Would highly recommend!

Return visit to Niue also meant a return to Vaiolama. Stopped by twice in our week long stay on Niue. Great toasted sandwiches, although strangely they added mustard to the Ham/Cheese/pineapple toasty - but still nice. Mango/passion smoothie is fantastic. Great views undercover or out on the deck are in the sun. Relaxed and casual.

Given Niue only has UHT milk available the staff manage to make excellent coffee. Combine this with their fantastic view and itâs an easy 5stars. The banana cake and chocolate cookies are also a great accompaniment to the morning coffee stop.

Our cruise ship had a stop at Alofi, Niue recently.On good advice from a lovely lady at the Tourist Information building, Tavanas was nearby.Incidentally, the Tourist Information building has wonderful displays and information about Niue.Tavanas is more like a small fish and chip shop, also selling hamburgers and smoothies.Niue uses the New Zealand dollar as currency.Ordered the local tuna NZ$7.50 and chips NZ$6.50.Fish was excellent and the chips likewise.Neading a snack in the centre of town, worth a try and lovely people.
