Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Albany. A rich 300-year history, a thriving arts community and seemingly endless wilderness make this New York capital city on the Hudson River a great weekend getaway. Outdoor enthusiasts come here to ski, hike, canoe and fish; trout and small-mouth bass fishing is among the best in the U.S. Mountains surround the city, and the tapestry of golds and reds on an autumn day is breathtaking. The city is dominated by an elaborate 10-building complex that includes the State Capitol; the New York State Museum, with life-like dioramas such as American Indian life and an Adirondack logging operation; and the oval-shaped Empire State Performing Arts Center, nicknamed "The Egg." History buffs will enjoy the colonial homes, historic churches and museums, and can tour 18th-century mansions, like the Schuyler, a superb example of pre-Revolutionary War architecture. Whether nature or history is your passion, you'll find an abundance of both in this upstate New York gem.

A wonderful find, once we found it, tucked away in a rather quiet corner of a busy city. This 1800's building that once housed a public school and then a doctor's office boasts a nice garden patio, small bar area as you walk in, and cozy dining area that seats maybe 20 people. The service was very friendly, quick, and efficient. The prices were very reasonable. The menu held something for everyone. Great choices. The burger was the best ever. Cooked perfectly! The homemade salsa was awesome as well. Wished we lived closer so we could return to this great place more often!

Fantastic breakfast for a group of 6 with very diverse tastes. We ended up ordering the gamut from traditional eggs and bacon, to crab cakes benedict, crepes, and oatmeal pancakes. Everything was hot and delicious, and the servers were attentive but not annoying. Plenty of coffee and a cute space. They also listed some amazing looking breakfast cocktails, but I was driving 3 hours so could not indulge.

We were seated right away, probably time of day worked in our favor - around 1:00 on a sunday - service was good- food took awhile to come out but it wasnt a horrible wait - the food it self was good too. The two complaints i have are - food was all over the floor from previous patrons - not just in one area but in several and no one in hour or so that i was there cleaned up any of it. Sloppiness in the eating area makes me wonder about cleanliness of the kitchen. :/ Also - one of the bathrooms smelled like dog sh*t, literally. Maybe someone brought it in on the bottom of their shoe or maybe that's how it smells in there but it was bad. This was my first time there - I'd go back but if i felt cleanliness was an issue a second time, that would be it.

This place has been here for along time, under different name and owners, but the food has always been great.I havent been here in years so I was eager to have lunch here with a friend. It was a weekday so I think less crowded then for Sunday brunch, so we were seated quickly and the service was prompt and friendly. We enjoyed our food items - an omelette made to order and a grilled portobello & eggplant. No complaints and would recommend again. You could certainly eat cheaper elsewhere but the food is tasty and lovely when it comes.
