Lots of reviews here saying pretty much the same thing, and all apparently accurate from our lunch stop. We had their self-described 'world famous chicken sandwich' and it was great, although no self-respecting Frenchman would accept that the bread was a 'croissant'. But it was nice bread and great filling, with the chicken salad added to by the unusual inclusion of some grapes. Obviously an old house with multiple rooms; all pleasantly decorated. If you're looking for an easy lunch in Abilene as a tourist this makes a great stop.

Fresh roasted coffee. Fruit smoothies. Hot chocolate. Sandwiches, desserts, etc. Items are listed on a chalkboard in the front entryway. You order and pay, then find a seat; your order will be brought to you. Staff was friendly and service was reasonably quick.Tables, couches, board games, etc. Seating is fun! I took my teenage daughter to meet a group of friends here. There were many people in the restaurant of various ages, yet it was not loud. I sat on a comfortable couch reading a book and drinking a smoothie. The atmosphere was pleasant.
Where to eat Pub food in Abilene: The Best Restaurants and Bars
I read about this restaurant in the local newspaper. I believe the owners came from Austin. It said they bake everything themselves. The food was delicious. The Sausage and Spinach Strata was excellent. It is similar to a quiche but without the crust. The Summer Berry Salad was good. Among other things, it had strawberries, blueberries and plenty of spinach (most of the stems weren't long which I prefer). Also, there were items that heartier appetites would like. It is in an old house which presents two problems. The seating areas are in regular rooms of the house, so seating is limited. If you live or work downtown or nearby, you might want to take it back to work or home to eat. Also, it didn't appear to be handicap accessible. It is a great alternative to a nearby popular restaurant. (BTW, it is only open for breakfast and lunch.)
