We use this place fairly often as it's the best around! It was our 44th wedding anniversary and this is the only place to go to celebrate such an occasion!First off the service, it's perfect, just the right balance between friendly & professional, except the boss Tony who's a cheeky sod! I mean that in a good way, he's always up for a bit of cheeky banter!Next the food, always good!Large varied menu and always plenty of specials, and always willing to cook it as you like it.We've never had a bad meal in all the years we've been going here. The decor is superb, lovely white linen tablecloths & napkins, good size tables with plenty of space around them. When we went the other day we were just about to have our drinks and look at the menu when there was a power cut in the village, everything went black, but the staff were there immediately with lights, some people left, which I thought was crazy, you might as well wait a while and see if they're going to coming back on.We had our round of drinks in candlelight and ordered some "Fizz" to toast our anniversary and 10 minutes later the lights came back on.Those people that left made a bad decision. We had a great evening. You must give this place a try, it's the best around!Hi Steve thank you for your kind review and yes that was an interesting night with the power cut ( very romantic by candlelight) pleased you all enjoyed the food and the evening. As ever look forward to seeing you soon.

My week in Hemsby is almost over and a lovely chap in Sands arcade recommended this place. It is first rate. Being a picky or fussy eater the lovely lady cooked all my food just the way I like it. Seems a really hard thing to do in some places. The fried bread was amazing. So light and crispy with no fat running off of it. You may have to wait a bit for your meal but, it's well worth it. So if you are in Hemsby give this place a go. Doesn't open early though, about 9am time. Depends on the weather and time of year.

Have been using this cafe for years, originally as a holiday maker and lately having moved to the area as a âlocalâ.would far rather use this cafe than any other locally.Food always spot on and excellent value for money.Nothing too much trouble just ask and the staff will do their best to sort you out.Shame that only open during the holiday season, sort of place that would do well all year round if in a different location.

We visited this Restaurant last Saturday when going to meet the extended family who were holidaying in Scratby. After a two hour drive we wanted simple without going down the Junk Food Route. This Restaurant and the Staff were so lovely, we would drive back just to try other dishes on the menu. I had the Homemade Mushroom Stroganoff with Rice and it was superb. The staff also couldnt do enough for us. I highly recommend a visit to this lovely Restaurant.

We booked a Friday evening here as we were having a short break in Winterton. We arrived to find a table in the window with great views over the sand dunes, so thought how lucky, however this was spoilt by the fact of repeated staff and customers standing at the front step smoking, which is literally by the window we were seated at, so felt like we were in a zoo!I see James, the manager comments on reviews, so perhaps could take action for future customers? We were the only table in, which is always a worry for a Friday night in May.The food was average for the price. I ordered a lamb kofta as a starter, but was informed that they had no lamb, but could do chicken, which I went for, but when it arrived, they were tiny chicken skewers, the kind we have bought before frozen, not worth the money. The rest of the meal was okay, but not as good as I would hope.On a positive note the waiting staff were great. Friendly, helpful and attentive.Hi im sorry you did not enjoy your visit I can reassure you the stuff on the menu is all local produce and cooked to order unfortunately some things were missing off the menu at the time due to the menu being ran down to make way for our brand new summer menu.we do like to keep our standards very high to ensure the products are given to our customers how we would want it ourselves the skewers in question have been removed off the new menu and many new tasty dishes added. As for staff smoking in front off customers management do tell our staff not to do this but cant always be policed im sorry for this and words have been said.hope to have a revisit in the future to give us another go.thanks james

Enjoyed a meal here whilst on holiday in mid Sept, Very impressed with the way the staff corrected a problem - my wife's cottage pie had burnt on to the bottom of the plate making that part of it inedible. The staff gave a complimentary dessert to my wife and we got extra on the cheese board. They do say that it's how you correct a mistake that counts, so full marks to them for this.Lovely pub, lovely village in a lovely part of the word. Well worth a visit !
