Things to do in Whitchurch

I eat a lot of breakfasts on my travels. Some good and some poor. The location of the Lockside Cafe is fantastic and I was looking forward to a drink and breakfast. I am sorry to report but I was very disappointed with the breakfast. The beans were nearly warm and the bacon slightly under-cooked. The tea was stewed. Not what I expected and hopefully the cafe can use this feedback and not make the same mistakes!

Been visiting Whitchurch for years and have just gone to the one pub for food and drink, but this time we tried out the Bull's Head and so happy we did! A real, honest to goodness English pub is the Bull's Head. The staff honestly could not have been nicer and took such good care of us. Our meals, Fish & Chips and the Scampi were piping hot and just delicious. Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream--wonderful. A lot of food at very good prices and we cannot wait to go back for another meal!Thankyou for you kind words glad you enjoyed the experience.

Great warm & friendly pub, with great joules ales, fine wines & a large selection of gins. Home cooked food served daily. real roaring fires (winter) dig friendly.
A terrific pub if you want to have a drink in somewhere that actually feels like a proper pub.The Joules pale ale is the best beer in the area, absolutely perfect. So good to find somewhere that knows how to look after it's ale.Always friendly staff and the couple of times I've had food it's been good.

Maybe the oldest pub in Whitchurch, dating back to circa 1650 being a coaching inn in those days . We have a lovely front courtyard with cover , and a large beer garden to the rear of the pub . We serve food 7 days a week,Monday and Tuesday (lunch only) 1
I met up with some friends at the White Bear before going to a restaurant in town. The bar is warm and cosy, with comfortable seating. The welcome was friendly, service was very good and the drinks are competitively priced!

Docket No.33 is a modern British restaurant in the small Market town of Whitchurch. With years of hospitality experience the owners Chef Stuart Collins and his wife Frances bring a new dining experience to Whitchurch. The menus are kept small and focused
Fine dining in Whitchurch was a contraction until we went to Dockets. We had the tasting menu with the extra £7.50 cheese. Food was excellent. Service was too. Clearly the chef and staff have a passion for great, locally sourced food.Lovely presentation and flavours. Total bill was £150 for 2 including coffee, tasting menu, 3 drinks tap water and cheese. Not cheap but well worth a special occasion.

Welcome to the Bull and Dog, you will find us situated on the B5476 halfway between Whitchurch and Wem in a little village called Coton. This hidden gem is country dining at its best, with wooden floors and open fires this timeless classic will never fail
This is our nearest pub - about 1 mile away from home and we should visit more often. We were put off by the food a couple of years ago but now changed owners and food is much better. Car Park was busy which is always a good sign. Food was traditional pub pub and good quality with friendly service. Will be coming back more often.

We've never been disappointed at a Brunning and Price pub, and do tend to seek them out when travelling, not least because they are dog-friendly. On this occasion, an unseasonably warm September day lured us to sit outside in the garden. The down-side of the unseasonable warmth was that the menu reflected the season rather than the weather, with rather autumnal comfort foods on offer. Lovely nonetheless.

Excellent Pub/Restaurant. We ate here twice whilst on a narrow boat holiday on the nearby canal. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food choices were plentiful. The food was well presented, well cooked, ample portion size and delicious. Highly recommended for canal users and passing visitors alike.

Having done some research, we were looking forward to having lunch here on what was our first visit to Whitchurch. Unfortunately when we arrived there were no tables free. We had a wander round for a few minutes & returned to find all tables were still occupied so we opted to grab some sandwiches. We werenât given the option of bread type & had to ask for baguettes. The sandwiches were then made to order from the various refrigerated containers. The sandwiches were ok but nothing special. Not sure if weâd bother again as there were plenty of other cafes to try.
