Stayed here in one of the new Shepherds Huts and enjoyed a great stay! Our first time glamping experience was definitely a success. Really well kitted out hut, comfy bed, sofa, TV and drinking facilities. All very clean and well maintained, with good facilities for toilet & shower. Full english breakfast was awesome! A quick taxi trip in/out of town if you donât like to walk. Thanks to Ben and his team for a great stay (and your mum was a superb breakfast host!) and the pub locals were extremely welcoming too!

Shepherds Hall was built in 1873 and was a meeting place for the Loyal Order of Ancient Shepherds. It is now a fabulous tea rooms, craft gallery and has a lovely tea garden along with ample free parking. A lovely relaxed atmosphere, home baking and food p
Got tables indoors and outdoors and a great menu of light bites and more substantial food, plus cakes and puddings. We had some sandwiches and pop which had good ingredients and were cut well, with salad and crisps. Good value and the people serving were friendly and cheerful, so definitely recommend this place if your passing or visiting. Thanks.Thank you for your review and mentioning our staff. We think they are fab and do an amazing job for us.

What a beautiful place, in a beautiful setting, with beautiful delicious food!! A fabulous place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We found this lovely restaurant on Trip Adviser and it really surpassed our expectations. We were on a break, travelling around the North of England and I can honestly say this was the best meal we ate all week. The Fish Pie was to die for, and the service so friendly and welcoming. If you're ever in the area, please go, you won't be disappointed. Plus we so wish we'd booked to stay there. They kindly showed us their accommodation, which was fabulous. If we go back to Whitby, we know where we'll be staying, far superior to other local accommodation.

Lovely food but so slow to deliver ,had drunk our bottle of wine before we got the fourth course ! 3 hours altogether Dear farmeggs, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We would have loved to know what you thought about our food. We're sorry that the tasting menu took too long for you, we do explain when booking that we ask people to arrive between 7pm & 7:30pm and people usually leave 9:45pm - 10pm. Perhaps any of our other services, lunch and dinner, where we serve a la carte would have been more suitable. Kind regards, Bridge Cottage

We arrived just after 8 on a damp evening after a full day in Pickering for the 1940s weekend. The place was quite full but the staff were not only friendly but really helpful and attentive. They even complemented us on our 1940s outfits. The places was spotlessly clean and very well staffed. Our food came quickly and was beautifully presented, hot tasty and very very good, not even crumbs were left behind? We were not hurried at all and the staff never stopped cleaning and made sure that we had everything that we needed. There was even information about where the fish and potatoes came from. we'll be back next year.

This place is well worth the journey. It's on a side street close to the harbour. The fish and chips are fantastic and I can recommend the fish pieces and the fish cakes. Very reasonable prices and great staff make this fantastic.

If you want a traditional, no fuss, pie and mash cafe then this is for you. A selection of meat and vegetarian pies with a choice of mash and peas (garden or mushy) and gravy. The pastry is thick, plenty of filling and mash very creamy. Service is quick and friendly. Price is very reasonable and the food very tasty. Note you can only pay with cash.

I know that all Dittoâs reviews are raving but I can only report on what I found on the night. The food just wasnât as good as it was the last time we ate there. I enjoyed my starter of ox cheeks (my OH wasnât overly impressed however) but the belly pork with medallions of pork loin were below par for both of us. The pork loin pieces were dry and the belly pork was a long piece of flabby pork-no lovely crackling to give that knockout texture I associate with this dish (and as we would present it at home!). The desserts were very good-a perfectly made egg custard and my chocolate parfait was also excellent. The cheese board was average. Sadly, this time round, the 5 week wait for a table wasnât worth it. Service was very friendly.
