Visited for brekkie yesterday and got chatting to the lovely lady, Ann, who served us. Mentioned the family had owned a much larger establishment near Northampton for 7 years and moved to Ryde recently. The decor of the diner was really cute & retro and it was at the end of a historic arcade on Union Street. Breakfast was freshly cooked & bacon slices were thick. After thinking of Full English Breakfasts for a while, it was just what I needed! Hope the diner goes from strength to strength in its new location! Recommended visit :)

Wonderful. Too many pubs are resorting to microwaves and âfast foodâ, preprocessed and pre-bagged meals. Not The Stagâs Head and it shows. Simple, good, hot, flavoursome food. Pub is a little dated but can be considered quaint or âcountryfiedâ and add to the charm. Going to try the Sunday Lunch next time. Recommended

Visit quite often as food is lovely and the waiting staff are always friendly and helpful. We eat out quite a lot and are always trying new restaurants.. and always end up coming back to the dog and duck! The shift manager whose name I think is Corey is one of the best there is and who is well liked by the customers but also the waiting staff too which I think is a good quality to have.theres just a very good atmosphere created by the staff which makes it a nice experience when visiting, as for the food itâs top quality and steaks are always cooked perfect!

This is what a proper pub looks like. A huge selection of real ales, friendly bar staff, fantastic comfy interior - and the pies, oh the pies! We ate our lunch here last Saturday, and have to say it was one of the best in ages. We had heard that the pies were brilliant, and they certainly didn't disappoint. I had the Chicken & Thyme, and my husband had the Steak & Ale, served with chips, peas and proper gravy, and a pint of real ale - all for £9.95, excellent value. We could have stayed here a long time, and will certainly return. The bar staff were really lovely and very friendly. Highly recommended.Thank you so Much for your kind words glad you enjoyed your visit

I determined my rating on the type of establishment this place is which is a good old British Cafe. They do a wide and varied selection of options for breakfast and lunch with an extensive specials board which included fish meals and even mexican. I very much enjoyed the tuna jacket with a large salad plus a cheese salad wrap with 2 drinks coming to under £10. This was topped off by super fast and friendly service. Great little place and I dont know why I havent visited here sooner! We will be back...

We visited because we were given a £50 voucher for Christmas. The staff were friendly and welcoming but the premises were a bit dingy. The food was generally poor (stodgy gravy, tasteless mash, limited vegetarian options and very oily). Dessert portions were refreshingly sensible and one was tasty but the other was stodgy and not nice. Good wine!

Castello Lounge is an informal, neighbourhood food led cafe/bar where families, friends and local residents can come for a coffee and something to eat.
Been going to Castello Lounge regularly since it opened for food and drinks or just a drink always lunch times or late afternoons. My first time was for my birthday we all had a lovely meal and it all came out together with drinks each time itâs been good table service sometimes thereâs a wait to order and pay. I went yesterday with my daughter first time in a while I was surprised to see that the price of everything has gone up. We decided to just have a cappuccino one piece of carrot cake and a chocolate milkshake not much change left out of £10 There wasnât anyone waiting so our order was took the milkshake was done quickly but to my daughters disappointment it didnât taste as very nice sickly and powdery my daughter our Nesquick you make at home tasted better it was very expensive. My carrot cake was £3.50 and it was tiny and mostly loose crumbs my cappuccino didnât come and there was no sign of it being made I waited but staff were washing up a couple of cups surely serving the customer whoâs paid and waiting is more important than washing cups. There was plenty of staff working to cover everything. Iâd eaten my cake still no cappuccino I had to get up and ask and then I was waiting another 5 minutes when it came it wasnât as nice as it used to be just tasted like hot milk. Again overpriced Very disappointed as I was always impressed by the quality of food and drinks so didnât mind paying that bit extra after today I wonât be returning. HelloThank you for your feedback however disheartening that was to read!We are so sorry about your visit on this occasion, and unfortunately i cannot offer you an explanation. Please be assured that this isn't to our usual standard, and our products are usually very highly received. If you would allow us to, we would really like to offer you and your daughter back to have the same again on us.If you could email us on [email protected], we would love to speak with you further for this to be arranged.kind regards,Vanessa & team castello x

I don't know what was on the waitress's and chef's minds the evening we visited, but it wasn't customer service. It was a struggle to get the waitress to even take a drinks order, and service through the evening was grudging at best, verging on the argumentative. 3/4 of our mains order was incorrect and had to be sent back. Food was decent (when the right stuff turned up) but a bit on the pricey side, and £3 for a small bottle of coke was outrageous. The waitress's excuse of "it's been a long weekend" was a bit odd given that it was only early Friday evening.Local friends assure us that the service is usually far better so we might try this pub again someday to see if our experience was a temporary aberration.
