Fish and chips this evening were lovely, the best Iv had from any chip shop for along while. Nice thick non greasy chips and a generous portion size too, previously there hasnât been enough chips but you seem to have rectified this. Delicious cod too with a thinner batter which is so much better. Thank you !

We booked online at the restaurant here for a family birthday. It was nice to receive a phone call a few hours before confirming our booking. On arrival we were greeted at the door by the owner. He seated us in the bar and handed us menus, this is where it started to get odd. He told us they were using temporary menus at the moment and handed us pieces of stapled together A4 paper. We assumed they were having new menus printed however it turned out that some items were missing from the menu we had seen online. This would have been a valuble thing to mention on the earlier phone call maybe. We ordered drinks, not all of our choices were available. We sat down to eat and found that some items had been mixed up. Some sauces were not as advertised (garlic mayo instead of bbq with a starter for example) . The burger with "all the trimmings" was missing a few trimmings and the meat from the ribs was tasteless. The staff were overly attentive and one of the owners spent an inappropriate amount of time talking with each of the tables about things not concerning their food. The owners heard that there was a birthday on our table and made the effort to take a name and write a birthday card. However, when handing over the card they said it was "for a free cupcake next time" which we thanked them profusely for only to discover that it did not infact contain anything of the sort. There was just no need to joke about it containing something that it did not when the card itself was more than enough and a lovely gesture.Later the owners mentioned that they live over 90mins away and when we asked if they could maybe move closer they said " oh no we couldn't live here" and pulled a disgusted face. We found this quite rude to the people who do live nearby and spend money at their restaurant. And the bitter aftertaste, a week later, was a parking fine that arrived through my door for the privilege of parking in the hotel car park during our visit. I called the hotel on 4 separate occasions. I was told that it would be cancelled by 2 people who never actioned it and then I was told that the hotel has no control over it but if I emailed over my details they would "see what they can do" I have no idea why a restaurant in this location would need a parking company to police their car park. Just across the road there is a free car park and all car parks in the town are also free. It is unjustified and ludicrous that a paying customer should be receiving a notice like this. I eventually had to file an official appeal with the parking company and the fine has since been cancelled. I have no way of knowing if this is because of the appeal or if the hotel finally did what it said it would almost 2 weeks later. One thing I do know is that I will not be visiting here again.Odd is the experience you have left us with, having looked after our customers for years you must be the oddest one out. Talking to all other tables (quite normal) if we had ignored you we suppose you wouldnât have been happpy with that. We use the finest ingredients and as we use fresh fish and meats sometimes they are not available. Having not said a word on the night to us is ODD anyway and leaving us with a sour taste. This is all because you got a parking ticket and you didnât read the signs which is not our fault. The fact that you will not be coming back is actually a good gesture so we all donât have to go through the odd experience with you again.

Me and my boyfriend had some lunch here, the paniniâs were lovely and there was plenty of choices for filling, however the chips wasnât so good everyone also seemed really friendly, but our order was taken twice because the first waiter Iâm sure didnât understand us. Was still a nice quiet pleasant lunch and would try again.

re of town - we're proud of our history and of being a part of Thetford - the Lime Kiln Kitchen is our nod to this. We
We sometimes call in en route to looking after our grandchildren in Attleborough. Our visit today was up to standard. My wife had a fish pie that she reported as very good. I had a chicken Caesar salad. They forgot the anchovies but quickly got some when asked. The salad was generous and tasty. Staff were pleasant and efficient.

This venue has so many plus points if only they could raise their standards and find the right local price point.... One can only hope that it changes hands and this possible great venue can match it's right business caring owner and this will become a gold mine....Dear X7332WPsb,Local price point?Like any business (I hope), prices are determined by running costs and what is on offer. We source ALL our food from local farms, the local butcher, and the local baker; we have chefs in the kitchen with all the cooking equipment that is required, not a room full of underpaid youngsters just operating a dozen microwaves. We are very busy daily with local customers (the majority of our trade), and passing customers too.I read through your other reviews on Tripadvisor - I do agree with you about the Roman Baths in Bath, they might as well just knock it down and put a MacDâs there. Thanks for your visit.

Have been meaning to try the Wellington for some time,so two of us had lunch yesterday. We were the only ones eating and were very well looked after by a very nice and efficient young lady. The menu is very extensive and has some different items that you would not normally find in similar establisments. We both chose the fish and chips which was excellent in all respects. The batter was really first class very light and tasty, and the fish was firm and flaky. We had no room for a desert, but will try and leave enough room the next time we visit.

You won't be disappointed eating in this great restaurant. Service is brilliant and staff are attentive. Menu, whilst not extensive has something for everyone, including a 'Catch of the Day'. Portions are really generous and along with free tipple on arrival, satisfaction and satiation is guaranteed.
