Stayed at the Fountain Inn for two nights and ate there both evenings.Found it a very welcoming, attractive and lively place that we will definitely visit again in future.Booked online at the Fountain's own website. Very easy, secure, good price offered.Pub in the evenings was pretty busy, certainly for a Tuesday/Wednesday in a period of indifferent weather. We reserved a table both nights just to be sure but wouldn't have had too much of an issue had we not done so. Good English pub grub, all well prepared and well cooked. Some great local beers.Breakfast in the morning equally good.Accommodation is behind the pub. We found our double room perfectly good for two for a short stay. Very quiet; secure; spotlessly clean; got all the facilities we needed. Very slightly now on the worn/dated side and could do with a refurb fairly soon, but no complaints especially at the very reasonable price we paid. Lots of car parking, with space just outside the accommodation.

My friend had the ploughmans plate and I had a BLT baguette, we had 4 cappuccinos and the bill was less than 15 pounds! Excellent food, great portions and wonderful service. Easy parking, overlooking the river. Definitely worth a visit.

a nice homely place, courteous friendly staff, and excellent food, I had an omelette with cheese and two extras, mine were ham and mushrooms, also a small salad, with a super dressing, and toast, all extremely enjoyable, my wife had scrambled egg and smoked salmon, again with salad and toast, not expensive, buy quality, will be here again, and highly recommended

Broke our journey for lunch here and were very pleased that we did. The pub has recently been taken over and there is a new chef. The menu was interesting and the food lived up to expectation. There are a couple of real ales on which are well kept. The service was cheerful and efficient. We will definitely stop here again on our frequent trips back to England.

Another very enjoyable lunch here. Delicious food and good service. The two different quiches were lovely and the homemade lemonade refreshing on a hot sunny day.

We enjoyed a lovely pub dinner here on Saturday evening in the Piggery room. Staff were super friendly and welcoming, the waitress even took the time to tell us about the history of the pub and show us some old photos. The menu had lots of choice from pub classics to vegan options - the seabass and the chicken in stilton sauce were both delicious. Service was quick and food was great value with large portions.

Head chef is french, so english food with a french twist
Dined here with friends on Saturday evening; our first visit.Friendly greeting and excellent service throughout.A small, but delicious menu to choose from; I opted for a starter of tempura vegetables which were divine, followed by a main of Herefordshire fillet steak, cooked to perfection. All of our food was beautifully presented, quality ingredients and served at exactly the right pace.Excellent value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend; an absolute pleasure to dine here.Enjoy! My husband and I were greeted by friendly staff, taken to our table immediately and offered menus. The sourdough bread with marmite butter was sooooo delicious- and I donât particularly like marmite! We ordered mackerel and Isle of Wight tomatoes for starters - both delicious. We ordered lamb and quail for mains, again delicious. My lamb was so tender it melted in the mouth. No, the portions are not huge, but they are enough. We ordered cheese plate and the raspberry and white chocolate dessert, both of which were again very delicious. Not at all rushed, so very relaxing. The restaurant is in a great location, very nicely decorated, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable, good wine list - and the toilets so clean you could eat your meal in there should you so choose. One of the best meals Iâve ever eaten. Will definitely return.

Bakers is lovely, friendly independently owned cafe bar located in the heart of Ludlow town centre. Providing full table service, our staff have been with us for many years and are all local people. We serve the very best Organic Lavazza coffee in our bra
Heard that Bakers had started a Friday evening fish menu so thought we would try it.Absolutely amazing, unfussy, beautifully cooked seafood. We had the mixed platter which included Hake, Sea Bass, Salmon, tempura monkfish and calamari, plus Tiger Prawns and a crab and crash fish salad, yes all of that for £25 a head! Did I mention the service was excellent as well, attentive but not over the top!Donât miss out this is a fantastic, value for money experience!
