Enviable reputation in a great location with all the food being prepared and cooked on the premises by our award winning chef Philip Todd. Home-made dishes cooked to order and nothing is too much trouble.
One of our favourite places for lunch. This month our confidence was again rewarded with a warm welcome, good food and good service.

A popular village pub with very helpful staff. There is a good choice on the menu and well kept beer. There is a choice of menu with a 'lighter' option available at lunchtimes.

The Plough is a traditional village pub located in the beautiful setting of Great Chesterford which is situated on the glorious North Essex/South Cambridgeshire border. There has been a pub on this site for over 150 years serving the local communities and
Simon and Sam were excellent from our initial contact right through to the execution of our post cremation celebration. They were both very helpful with suggestions and ideas for food, drink and music during a difficult time for our family. Prices were very reasonable and the food was of good quality with excellent service from all the staff. They easily handled over 80 people and we would highly recommended The Plough for a similar event. Additionally the pub offers a good external area for fine weather with plenty of parking.

Brilliant find. Grilled chicken wrap fabulous, full and flavoursome. Goats cheese sandwich equally good.... both with salad (fresh, for choice would have liked more). Virgin Mary was not pre-mixed, very very good! Service very polite and efficient.Would recommend for sure!

Warm, welcoming staff to help you through a well-considered choice of teas and coffees. The scones came with an unexpected garnish of fresh fruit that was delight. The décor is bright and uplifting and in keeping with the menu. The children's menu was charming and the use of real china cups and saucers, for child and adult alike, proved a hit. The sandwich plates are generously sized with lots of fresh salad.

Great family run gastro pub, highly recommended for a hearty meal and a decent pint. Came here with family visiting from Ireland, the food was delicious and we were made to feel exceptionally welcome. Homemade honeycomb ice cream was quite possibly the best dessert I've ever had! We will definitely be back again soon

We took two friends to this pub for Sunday lunch. Very friendly attentive staff - nothing was too much trouble - warm welcome from the landlord - even though he was clearly very busy. Good buzz about the place. Ice was brought with our water and wine without even having to ask! We shared the prawns as a starter and then tucked into sea bass, roast turkey and fish and chips - food was excellent - full of flavour, freshly cooked and all the meals were piping hot except for one of the sea bass which was just warm - but was such a delicious flavour and so beautifully cooked I decided not to say anything. Fleur mess, cheesecake and ice creams to follow - again all delicious and more clean plates. Good coffee in individual coffee pots was a great finish to a great meal. Thank you to all at the Fleur for an excellent lunch - will definitely be back.

We are a cozy country pub. We serve good home cooked food. We have a cosy, warm bar with real ale and an open fire, a lovely dining room and a large beer garden. We also have B&B rooms available.
Beautiful old pub, full of charm and character. Laid back service, which can make for a relaxed and unhurried visit. Staff are friendly. Food was delicious. Pan fried salmon was perfectly done, goats cheese salad was refreshing and light, and the sausage and mash were full of flavour. I can imagine this pub to be unbelievably cozy in the winter. Definitely a regular now! Great to hear weâre now a âregularâ. Look forward to seeing you again. Thanks for your comments.
