Weâve been here a few times for drinks and always felt welcome. We havenât eaten here for such a long time until today when we went for Sunday lunch. Jess greeted us in a very professional but friendly manner and we sat in the lovely bar area before lunch. It was nice to place our orders whilst sat in the bar and we were called through when the starters were ready. From start to finish, everything was spot on. We had a nice enough rest between courses and not rushed at all. Jess came to see us throughout and really made us feel welcome. She told us of future events they are having but without pressure. Looking forward to going again.

I visited plotters table to have a full English breakfast and was not disappointed. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The decor has recently been updated by its new owner and is fresh and inviting. The food was served promptly and was piping hot. This establishment is well worth a visit!

The Blitz Tea Room and Jazz Lounge takes you back to during the Blitz in the 1940's.
Wonderful place, properly run with a great atmosphere. Couldn't fault it in anyway .The staff could not be more friendly. We all loved the old style teapots and the old fashioned way of making the tea. Just perfect

We have dined at Thornhill over the years on so many memorable occasions, engagements, special birthdays, even hiring one of the small rooms which we have filled to capacity, to dining just the 2 of us, and this time was such a disappointment. We arrived just after 7pm on a Monday early August. As we knew the restaurant/pub gets busy, we asked the barmaid if we could have a table, she checked and informed us yes. Within 10-15 minutes our drinks had arrived and our 2 carvery orders taken. We were advised we'd be told when to go to the carvery. 20 minutes later, a table close to us complained their starters hadn't been cleared and where was their mains which were then brought out. We asked for another drink and waited an eternity. One hour or so after arriving, we went to the bar and not wanting to make a scene advised the barman that we wouldn't be dining and found our experience disappointing. We paid full price for our drinks to be ignored. That evening I Facebook messaged Thornhill regarding our experience. The next day we received an apology from the owner advising a voucher would be sent to our home address as way of an apology and to try again. I had to message 4 days later for an update asking if this would be posted as my address hadn't been taken. 5 days later I chased, 10 days after the initial visit I chased, then 3 weeks later. Each time an apology/the landlady was away, it was left for someone else to do etc. I have recently asked for an update to be told the ownership has changed hands and I can be offered a meal for 2 at another local establishment. Why would I want to do that if they can't get it right after so many chases? Such a disappointment and complete lack of service. Let's hope the new owners can make a difference.

Friendly service, food arrived quite quickly. Main food item first, salads, chips, veg, sides, arrived piecemeal and not with main dish element. Then any requested sauces (not already on the table).Good portion sizes. The men's toilet was flooded and wasn't a great experience.Overall; OK.

Set in lovely countryside, this Inn is well worth seeking out. Food and Ale are excellent, the staff are efficient and attentive. Lovely views from the patio..and there is a childs adventure structure. Booking Saturday afternoons recommended.

Went to a charity event on Saturday night, the pub was full but the bar staff were amazing, never waited more than a few sconds to be served. Yes there were locals in there but this was not a problem. At the end of the day it was a charity event and I am sure lots of money was raised. This feels like a community pub and one that looks after the interests of local people without excluding non locals. More power to them I say.I have also had a few meals there and never been disappointed
