The Duke of Wellington re-opened as a real pub serving real food and real ale in 2010. Located in the village of Welbury, near Northallerton, the traditional pub dates back to the early 18th century. The interior has lots of features including real fires,
This has been my second time at the Duke of Wellington, and won't be my last. Great food, the most friendly of staff and very child friendly. A great setting of point for going to local attractions, but a quiet relaxed spot to return too.Good theme nights for food, and very reasonable prosed.I travel a lot with the kids, and love to find a place you can feel comfortable with the family.

The Horseshoe Inn is a small 300 year old village pub located in the village of West Rounton in North Yorkshire. We provide a friendly warm atmosphere with excellent food and real ales. All of our food is freshly prepared by our Chef who has a reputation

As a âvillagerâ and business owner I like to support all village businesses including the Queen Catherine. Osmotherley attracts many visitors year round but especially over the Summer months and at weekends. There are customers for everyone and I love the diversity of what our pubs and cafes offer. Had steak pie last night which was really very good. Got to be able to do a good steak pie on pub menu! Some big weekends coming up including Osmotherley summer games on July 6th.

We are now in our 25th year at the Blacksmiths, we are a family owned, family run, traditional, independent free house country pub. We like to think that service, value for money and a friendly welcome go hand in hand. We are not part of some faceless cor
We have just returned from a wonderful spur of the moment tea out which we definitely chose well. A warm welcome from the girl behind the bar who attended to us immediately. We hadnât booked which was fine tonight as it wasnât too busy, so we were shown to a table straight away.Even though itâs not a small pub it was really cosy and warm, a really nice ambiance. There was a specials board boasting â2 for £20â on different dishes every tea time during the week. Tonight was steak night and my husband and son were delighted! Myself and my younger son chose the half parmos, which I must say when they arrived were of a very ample size! The steak eaters chose medium rare steaks and said they were cooked to perfection (compliments to the chef Jonnie). Chips and garnish were plentiful. The only disappointment was we were too full to enjoy a pudding, and there were some lovely homemade puddings on the menu too (next time for definite!)We are now perusing the Christmas Day menu which also looks amazing! Such a beautiful place in beautiful surroundings and extremely attentive, welcoming staff.Well done, we intend to make our way through every tea time specials which may I add even include Sunday Lunch!A proper little country gem

Fish and chip takeaway with an extensive menu, Our menu can be found on our website, we also have specials on from time to time, please call for details, Telephone ordering taken for collection
Proper village chippy just as youâd hope it would be. Queue of locals and tourists out the door of a tiny room where fish and chip perfection is made. Lady behind the counter must have the memory of an elephant, though she claims to wing it! Friendly staff, excellent chips, eaten off our laps on the little green opposite - smashing. Short walk from cote ghyll caravan site and worth every step.Thank you for your review, it's very much appreciated

Osmotherley chip shop has always been a great asset to village life. Of course we are lucky to have three great pubs/restaurants but everyone needs take out fish and chips as well donât they!Well done Pam for taking this on- complements what we already have in the village and can eat your fish and chips and have a pint after! Whatâs not to like!Have to try your curry night one day. Fish was great by the way. Always cooked to order and always totally fresh.

A haven on the Coast to Coast, a destination that is focused on quality food and drink. Bringing you fully traceable single origin coffees, loose leaf speciality teas with a breakfast and brunch menu worth travelling for.
Conveniently located for lunch on the coast to coast walk, so didn't need to carry sandwiches. Highly recommended by the locals. Really enjoyed my Smoked Salmon Bagel and pot of tea.

Gorgeous little village, one night stay only and glad to say it was at The Golden Lion. Lots of pub character downstairs, buzzing with Sunday lunchtime crowd when we arrived. Shown to our upstairs room and helped with our luggage- this does not often happen in these parts. Quite spacious, good mod cons with great rainfall shower, a pretty window overlooking the street, plenty of cupboard space, a sofa and extra large comfortable bed with quality linen. Tea/coffee etc in the room of course, but with fresh milk and delicious homemade biscuits! Dinner was very good, great staff, good value.Would recommend highly for short stay in this beautiful and quiet village.

Travelling back north on the A19, feeling hungry, we decided to visit Osmotherley, a beautiful village that could easily be in the Cotswolds for itâs character. There are three pubs within a hundred yards of each other, but Trip Advisor rated the Three Tuns the best. Good decision - very friendly service in a very clean pub with nice touches of pewter. Both the red mullet and the sea bass were delicious, with a good selection of tasty starters and desserts. And dog friendly - perfect!
