McCanns had been open a good few years now and I never miss it on a night out in the town even though it might only be for one pint before heading on. It had some good live music on certain nights but is normally a pub to call into for a chat with the locals and a pint. I've always been a lover of the place. It gets a good mix of young and old and there is never any trouble about it. It's well run. If your about the town drop in for a chat and a pint.

Dinner was very slow, waited a long time between starter and main then 4 out of 5 arrived, my dinner arrived when everyone else were half way through even though I ordered plain salmon and mash only. Took ages for dessert too even though only 3 options. Staff were nice.Breakfast was fairly badly organised, less than 20 people there and no orange juice, bowls or any bread, everyone was waiting for ages then a small amount of bread arrived.Hot breakfast was just ok, bare minimum. Seemed badly organised really Dear AnastaciaI am so sorry you had such a poor experience. I am afraid the chef prepared the Salmon Dish to our standard specification and not as you required. This is an oversight on our behalf and I apologise Can I ask you to contact me directly to let me know what time you had your breakfast so I can investigate thoroughly?Thank you

My friend and I called today for our lunch, when we arrived the restaurant was full and my friend asked if we could have our meal outside as she doesn't like big crowds. One of the new owners said "Yes, as long as you pay for it and told us to go outside and we would be brought menus", which never happened. We both have been customers of mcginnis for many years and have never been so insulted! He was rude and unfriendly and we will not be back!!!!

I've read several of the reviews here and I have to add mine. I've eaten here several times, with different groups. I've been here with the crew we train with, I've been here with friends and a gaggle of kids and I've brought my mum here, who's in a wheelchair. The food here is diner food. Good, clean abundant portions provide comfort to the masses including us. I have to say, I have always found the staff to be very accommodating and any (reasonable) request has always been provided for.Personally, I've had the breakfast here, salads, and the dinner/lunch specials. The place is not fancy, in fact, its great as its not fancy. If its busy, take a seat and chat to your neighbour. It wont take long, there is a good throughput in the restaurant.I would not have come here unless I was taken, as I did (mistakenly) think it was a chipper. It does provide that, but it is so much more. Its a place where you can get all your meals, at a reasonable price, and you can make it as healthy as you choose. You want to be bold and order cod, chips and icecream,... you go right ahead. I'm getting hungry now again talking about the place. Might sneak in for breakfast tomorrow.

Absolutely faultless service, lovely food, classic when we visited on Sunday for our lunch but really nice and fantastic modern food presentation, good portion sizes and good enough value. Attentive staff and friendly. Very impressed.Decor was very impressive too, lovely details: interesting plates and glasswarelovely little details in the booth we sat at, prints on walls, lovely ornamentsmodern furniture and lovely interior styling and outside very modern and well thought through.10/10. hope this is a huge success for the people behind it and wish we had something like this near us.

Called in at 4pm and the place was locked up. No sign or anything. Everything online says it's open to 5. I could see people inside and the staff ignored me until I banged to door. They looked at me like I was mad - the place was full of people eating but the door was locked! I said are you open? "No we are closing early for a party". Put a sign up next time and put it on social media to avoid wasting people's time and ending up with a review like this.

Visited here July 2019 - we checked out TripAdvisor and some had posted to try the 'whole hog burger' - a debate started in our car as to who was going to order this to see if in fact it was as described. It was - a serious person v food challenge. However it is quality food. This is a must visit if in area and I have done nothing but sing this restaurants praises from my visit. The whole menu is incredible value as well . Friendly staff and clientele. Make this a must if visiting area.

Headed out for dinner with family. At first glance from the outside the restaurant looks rundown however inside it is lovely. All staff very polite. Very reasonable prices 3 course dinner. Poor vegetarian options, the one listed on the menu wasn't avalible so it was stir fry or curry. The malteser stack was great as was the turkey and ham. Would return again.

My wife and I went to Grants last night and I have to say the food was excellent. The staff were courteous and attentive without being intrusive and the meal was served quickly and professionally in nice surroundings. One slight improvement I would suggest would be to change all the light bulbs which are currently out in the main restaurant......just a few too many. We will be back.
