Booked table for 6.Car park next to pub.Warm welcome at bar, great old pub, lots of character. Tables spaced out, small garden area with seating, overlooking fields.Food was excellent, best meal we have had this week, fish and chips excellent... monk fish scampi was fabulous, and the gammon was good too.... eat a lot of duck eggs not sure if it was a ducks egg or hens ?? Did have to wait a while after ordering but worth wait.Was full up after main courses so did try a pudding, but did look at menu, not a wide choice Would recommend Narrow lanes to get to pub, but worth visiting.

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday and wee delighted with our choice. The bar and waitress service from Lucy was friendly and efficient and the menu interesting. One of the daily specials, the rack of lamb was absolutely gorgeous and the fish pie was really good too. To have such delightful service and amazing quality food at the end of what must have been a busy weekend for them is most impressive. Wish we lived locally so that we could make it a regular place to eat.Good Morning,We are so happy that you have taken the time not only to write such a wonderful review, but to praise our amazing waitress Lucy. Never been before but will certainly go again Had the x2 steak deal for £25 Steaks were very good as were the trimmings Puds were ok but could do with some lighter choices eg brûléeâs rather than heavy brownies style Staff were very friendly They location is not great in that post 1800 hours the only option to get there are the stairs as the lift and the bridge from the multi storey car park is closed but worth the effort

Today we revisited Jacksons for lunch. Once again we were welcomed by a smiley member of staff and quickly seated. After deciding to have the OAP special ( COD, chips and tartare sauce, pot of tea and glass of orange, all for £5.95 each) we were served our drinks very quickly by another smiley member of staff. Our fish and chips came on lovely hot plates and looked delicious. And boy was it scrumptious. Thankyou once again Jacksons for a splendid fish and chip lunch at a very pleasing price. We will come back soon.

Love this place always a welcome deb and her team cant do enough for you.Ordered food for late arrivals and asked for variation on menu because my daughter on slimming world diet - no problem for them. Customer service excellent that is why its our favourite pub when we visit the area

This is a pub not posh or bistro . Menu prices too high for town centre pub. Had a sharing board cheese n scotch egg very average £12 and he tried to over charge us... not impressed. Much better places with offers in Newton Abbot.

I went with 10 guys who come to Devin on a golfing trip to the Linney for a meal, we was greeted by a very friendly girl called Ann, we all ordered starters and main which all arrived together and all my friends said the food was excellent and all the staff was very friendly and polite especially Ann who we had some great banter with her, we all will definitely go again next time we are down from Derbyshire on our next golf trip.Definitely worth a visit

We are staying in the village at the delightful âNestâ and were told the food was good in the village pub.Loved the menu and had trouble deciding on what to eat as I fancied several dishes.They had a great specials board with lots of local fish.The very welcoming barman and attentive waiter were great and I did overhear them going to great lengths to check that dishes were suitable for customers with dietary needs.This is a real gem of a place, and within walking distance. I hope we come back during our stay as there are other dishes I want to try

Always go by your recommendations so when I entered best Sunday lunch and Orestone Manor came up I booked I was advised the time shiw on there site was incorrect and we were booked in at 12.15 lunch time I stated I was allergic to Black peppers he went away to the Chef then came back to us saying all of there Sunday roasts were drenched in pepper all night and the roast potatoes I have never come across this before as they were advertising the roasts Beef,pork Chicken you would have thought that one of the three would have been supplied without adding pepperes I had to end up with fish for Sunday lunch not what I wanted I think they should advertise that they add these allergic items so people are aware Graham Thurston the fish was very good and the serviceWe are please you enjoyed the fish and service. Our website does clearly state our dinning times . However as with all restaurants time slots do get booked up. It sounds to me 12.15 was the only time slot we had available when you booked. I see from your booking that you booked through open table ( a third party booking agent). If you had phoned us directly we would have asked if you had any dietary requirements. We would have been more than happy to accommodate your pepper allergy had we known. Unfortunately the nature of a roast is the preparation beforehand hence the inflexibility. The Orestone Manor does always try to accommodate all allergies but it is best that we know upon booking. We do hope we can welcome you back to The Orestone but please phone us directly next time.
