Lovely brunch, perfectly cooked cafe style if you get my drift. Whiled away a couple of hours over fried eggs and toast, hot chocolate. Lovely waiting staff too.

Restaurant and bar serving modern British cuisine
Saturday night for my birthday dinner early 6:30 early accommodated and empty 8 adults and a toddler they have high chairs and cushions for seats, lovely venue , with real horses that our toddler was able to stroke. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lovely menu good choices ( no oysters as per photo which is a shame as I did want oysters ), lovely champagne and wine menu, high quality food , all very happy unfortunately my mothers double cooked chickened was very dry but staff offered different sauces or a new dish which my mother declined. For nibbles to start olives breads pardon peppers starters each main each and desert each 2 bottles red and 2 bottles champagne and a childâs menu came to £60 a head! We were very impressed! Would highly recommend ( not 5 star due to chicken dish )

Visited today for Sunday lunch. Our booking seemed to have been missed off the list. We were given a table in the bar. Several young girls were chatting and eventually our drink order was taken, 15 minutes later the drinks arrived but they were incorrect. When our lunch came out it was another 5 minute wait of the vegetables. The vegetables looked as if they had been microwaved or kept warm for too long. The carrots were inedible. We ate two courses and it took nearly 2 hours. Generally the food was good but they really need to manage the staff better as it is very frustrating watching staff chat whilst you are waiting to be served.

Excellent food, cooked well, fries are the best.Only criticism is that when asked if I needed anything I had noted the ketchup on the table so asked for mayonnaise only to be charged for it so soured the visit, expensive for the small pot but it wasn't the cost of was that it was a hidden charge!

Revitalised and reopened in October 2013. The Packhorse Inn offers a truly stunning dining and staying experience. Mediocrity is most certainly not on the menu or indeed any aspect of this eight bedroom country inn, which deliberately sets out to stretch
Cycled out here from Cambridge on Friday. Lovely building - itâs as good as the photos. Friendly and professional welcome from Hannah and the team. Good beer (Pure Gold) at a welcoming bar space. Delicious food (we had asparagus with pear and shallot to start, followed by chorizo and Parmesan crusted cod with white bean ragout, and my wife had wild mushroom with pearl barley ragout). Not much vegetarian choice but the mushrooms were just fine! Thanks everyone! Hope we will be back soon! JDear Jamesscff, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Great to hear we looked after you so well, I have passed your praise onto Hannah, thank you. The team and I look forward to welcoming you back. Kind regards Stuart

We left home for a long travel up to Great Yarmouth and decided to have a nice, cooked breakfast on our way up to make a break in our journey. At Newmarket hubby decided he was hungry, so I looked on my TA app and found this place. So off we went to The Pantry. We parked in the nearby short stay car park and managed to find this place quite easily. It was just after 10.30am that we got here and we were amazed at just how busy it was.We noticed most people arriving seem to stop in the entrance area and wait to be greeted and sat down at an available table, although there isn't a notice telling you to do this! There's a big menu choice here. Hubby ordered a cooked breakfast and I, an eggs benedict. We had about a 15 minute wait for our food to arrive - which we felt was quite good considering how very busy it was here.Hubby loved his cooked breakfast, he had asked for white toast with it - see photo. My eggs benedict was on four big wedges of, I think, sourdough toast. The outside crusts were extremely hard and I just couldn't eat them, which was a shame. I thought this would come on muffins, which is the usual way - so it would be nice to have that option as I'd much prefer it. The toast I got seemed to be all crusts :(However, the hollandaise sauce was superb, the eggs were perfectly cooked and the ham also tasted really good quality - so I did enjoy this a lot.I had a latte with this and that was also excellent. Hubby asked for an elderflower cordial but it was so weak when he tasted it, he asked for some more cordial to be put in and that made it very nice! The costs for our breakfast were - latte £2.35 elderflower cordial £1 Pantry cooked breakfast £8 eggs benedict £8Total cost for breakfast £19.35Service was very good throughout our time here.

We were travelling from Southwold to our home in Rugby and we needed a break for our evening meal. TripAdvisor recommended the Bull and so we left the A14 to find this inn. We were not disappointed!! As it was a fine evening we were able to eat outside. We enjoyed a lovely meal which was reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Many thanks for your lovely review ,its great to hear you enjoyed your visit , please do call again if you are in the area

High expectations of the Wellington, but really let down with the Sunday Roast. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire were certainly out of the freezer, not sure about the beef. Really looking forward to the roast after reading the reviews, but it was not to be. Waitresses very good but they could not make up for our disappointment. Such a shame.HelloThank you for taking the time to do us a reviewWe are really sorry and disappointed that you didn't enjoy your sunday lunch. We can assure you the roast potatoes and Yorkies are not out of the freezer and everything is cooked fresh on the premises. The only thing we can say is to tell a member of staff next time as we can try and rectify the issue or give you an alternative.Apologies againGeorgina

Just been to this pub/restaurant for a meal and and evening of entertainment. Have to say it was well worth going to. The food was home cooked and was lovely, the actual venue was great as were the staff and owners. A visit is a must. Definitely will be going back. Congratulations to all concerned for a great evening.
