Hartnett Holder & Co is a relaxed, stylish and comfortable upscale restaurant - full of character, yet unpretentious. Angela Hartnett and Lime Woodâs Luke Holder, with their team, create locally sourced English dishes with a respectful nod to the seasons
See my hotel review but in short our 5 course tasting menu with wine flight was lacking in all areas. The restaurant setting is nice but not beautiful, it needs white table cloths and silver service. It doesnât have a cosy, intimate atmosphere and the tables are quite close together. The food was disappointing to say the least. We enjoy tasting menus and have never been disappointed at previous restaurants - there is always a stand out course and wine but sadly this wasnât the case at Hartnett & Holder. One course went back as we werenât able to eat it. Of the other 4 courses there wasnât anything worth a mention. This hotel stay was the start of my husband birthday celebrations and thank goodness the next restaurant we will visit is The Vineyard (near Newbury). We have visited this hotel before and it never disappoints (top tip is try The Vineyard if you like to experience a tasting menu)

Your hunt for the perfect pub ends in Lyndhurst, where the Fox & Hounds serves fantastic cask ales and delicious fresh food from an historic former coaching inn. Sink into a sofa by the fire or bask outside in our glorious sun-trap of a terrace; itâs our
Extremely disappointing experience. Took the family for a meal, my sister had the roasted celeriac from the main meal section and it was barely enough to feed a child. I had the chicken and chorizo sandwich and found a chicken bone!! The staff members response to the chicken bone was completely unacceptable - no apology, we were simply told it's a new menu and she would let the chef know! Would not go back.I am sorry that you experience wasn't our best; with regards to the celeriac we have spoken to the chefs and have told him to bulk out the dish as we do appreciate that it is rather small. As for the chicken bone all I can do is say sorry, I appreciate that this maybe too little too late but if you would like to email me directly [email protected] I will sort out getting you some compensation. 7 of us met for lunch here. 2 of us had the âcurry of the dayâ, Thai green chicken curry. We had about 2 small bits of chicken each and lots of chunks of potato and no vegetables in a fairly tasteless sauce, not good. Apparently the chili was okay and the cottage pie fine. 4 of us sat on hard wooden chairs which were very uncomfortable. The pub is a lovely olde worlde one but it was quite cold with no heating. The dessert was nice but very small for nearly £6. We were not asked how our meal was or if we wanted any more drinks. Nobody really enjoyed it and we were glad to get out and warm up and get comfortable. We wonât be back.

We stopped today for a quick snack, ordered a baguette with ceasar chicken and a gluten free toast with ham and mustard. About £5 each. The baguette was under cooked with 4 tiny little slices of cold chicken and literally 2 salad leaves, 4 crisps, I swear it was only 4 !! 2 slices of cucumber, 1 slice of tomato and to top it all up 1 mini piece of onion 1cmx1cm. The gluten free toast was burnt with 1 slice of ham the garnish was the same as the baguette. Really? £5 each? what a rip off!! both meals were tasteless, a 5 years old child could have prepared them better. With 2 soft drinks our bill was £15. Avoid this place.Hi I am really sorry your food was not up to scratch. We always work hard to offer value for money and obviously on this occasion we got it wrong. We have spoken to the kitchen and staff about this to make sure it does not happen again.

Did you eat in and take away, both great food. Eating in was perfect on a wet day, staff were friendly and interacted with our six year old which was nice for her.

It is in the New Forest
We both look forward to our weekly visit to the Greenwood Tree Cafe.As always there it's good food and although they are always busy, the staff always do there best to try and serve up food the best they can. Rob & Jo the management duo are very efficient, with very willing staff to help them. Well done to all.

Cosy cafe in the New Forest, offering a wide range of breakfast & lunches. With all cakes and scones baked in-house, you won't be disappointed by the selection or the taste.
We tried out this tastefully decorated cafe today. Our food was presented on beautifully designed plates. The ham, eggs and chips was delicious. Two generous slices of ham, two perfect cooked eggs and the chips were just how they should be, big and chunky. We also tried the generous portion of Dorset Apple cake. Which was so tasty, I ranked it as one of the best cake's I'd ever had. Our pot of tea for two was in a large teapot, we had a good 5 cups out of it. The staff were friendly, helpful welcoming and polite. Will definitely be returning. it. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very polite.

Busy friendly restaurant, good service. Interesting variety of food with fish & steak dishes. Has oysters to start, good quality, my wife's chilli prawns was very tasty. My wife had moules frits & really enjoyed it. I had the Thai fish curry, unfortunately this was way too spicy, the squid tough & not fresh. When asked how we enjoyed the food explained our experience & they apologised for the curry & took it off the bill. Cannot fault the service & if the fish dishes are made fresh they have the potential to be very good.
