Modern British brasserie in the heart of Lymington serving fresh, local food. Breakfast, brunch and lunch with evening and weekend events.
We went on a Thursday night for a quick meal with friends. The restaurant was surprisingly busy but service was prompt. Menu choices were a little limited but there were a few specials too. Everything we had was nicely cooked and well presented. The vegetarian sharing platter (a starter) was excellent, as was the bread.Wines were reasonably priced too.Worth knowing - tips are preferred in cash as the staff donât receive them if added to a credit card.

Quintessentially British, with a sprinkling of French. The Elderflower is the new restaurant for food lovers on a cobbled Quay Street in the heart of Lymington, the beautiful Georgian town sited between the New Forest district of Hampshire and the West So
Wanting a special venue for our food-aware daughter's birthday, we chose the Elderflower for a tasting menu, after considering a number of restaurants in the Bournemouth area. We are very glad we did; it was an outstanding success. Every course was carefully designed to produce both expected and unexpected mixtures (who would have thought that parsnip and white chocolate are such excellent companions?), and the service was a perfect balance of attentive but not intrusive. The waiting staff are (as commented elsewhere) really knowledgeable about each dish, to a degree we has never previously encountered (so often it's 'Let me go and ask the kitchen, but in this case those serving us clearly knew how each dish was made â we wondered if in fact they had taken part in preparation). It so happened that one of us has a sensitivity to a common food ingredient, and when booking I mentioned this. The very helpful Katie said she'd ring back with some suggestions, and she did, several times, until the restaurant had, in effect, created a bespoke menu. Really thoughtful and considerate, and meant that all of us had an equally satisfying experience. Not cheap, but good value, and very reasonably priced for a tasting menu of this quality.BTW, I don't understand the comment about dated decor. We thought the ambience very good, and perfectly suited to the building. It certainly didn't feel like an old people's home (see other review below) when we went. Thank you, Elderflower team.

Will and his team welcome you to The Monkey House, one of the last standing freehouses in the picturesque seaside town of Lymington. A family run pub and kitchen with rooms. In our cosy 18th century pub, enjoy delicious fresh food including traditional pu
A friend and I decided to try Sunday lunch with the new landlord. We both chose Roast Pork, which was amazing, but sadly not hot. They werenât busy, so I guess the meals had been left on the pass too long. We were hungry and thought that if we complained there would be a wait and they might be microwaved. No one came to check if we were happy with our meals. When we paid the bill the landlord simply said they couldnât have been left on the pass ... I wonât rush back.

Overlooking the Village Green, come and watch the world go by, enjoy a Barista coffee, a delicious thick and creamy milkshake or an Iced Latte, all made to order on the premises. We offer a wide and varied selection of homemade Lunches from £7.00, great s
We like a morning coffee but as our usual place when in these parts is closed on a Monday we tried here. Lucky for us we drove into Milford, found on street parking (many short stay spaces), and on appearance alone walked in. Friendly welcome and prompt service. Coffee pleasant enough as was our choice of cake. Looked and tasted like homemade which is always preferable to the sugary commercially bought alternatives. Although busy good we didnât feel rushed by staff and although we didnât have a cooked breakfast they looked great and good value. We will return to try in future. This is a great cafe, although tiny, in the a central location. A super review, thank you very much, your comments and observations for our little Cafe are very welcome. and perhaps we can earn a 5 "star" rating after you've sampled our very popular Breakfast menu on your next visit..

Cafe serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Also vegetarian food and vegan cakes as well as gluten free cakes and bread
Iâve visited Saltwater twice, the first time I had the sausage sandwich and the other day I had the rollmop herring open sandwich. I couldnât fault the sausage sandwich and the rollmop herring was outstanding - served with beetroot humus, pickles and salad on perfectly toasted bread. The coffee was excellent and so was the service. Iâm looking forward to my next visit.thank you for your review, and we are glad you enjoyed your visit to ourselves

Had a wonderful lunch at lanes with friends. Lovely building, a sympathetically converted chapel with tables on different levels so that you never felt crowded or overheard. We were made so welcome and service was exceptional. It was difficult to choose from the tempting options on the menu . I had a very tasty stuffed mushroom starter , delicious and perfectly cooked smoked haddock with a butter sauce and veg main and a creme brûlée dessert . A plate of petit fours to share with happy birthday written in chocolate arrived with our coffee . Which was a lovely surprise and a very generous gesture from the restaurant .Really special lunch , we all enjoyed our meals and the friendly ambience. We will be back !

The Cedar Tree Restaurant is proudly located as the principal restaurant at South Lawn Hotel. We provide freshly cooked dishes influenced by traditional British and European cuisine with efficient yet informal service standards.
We had a short break stay at the South lawns Hotel . Our second visit . This time we dined at the restaurant. The menu was varied but we opted for the set menu options . We both had a fish starter. Presentation was excellent , the portion size was just right and it tasted fresh. I had the ham pie and my husband the whole sea bass. Again , tasty and excellent value. We couldn't resist the whiskey sponge pudding ! All in all we would thoroughly recommend the dinning experience. Not that we had a dog but they had a separate area for dinners with dogs. Inclusive of wine and a beer together with the 3 courses it came to a total of £52.00 for two. Staff were attentive and service was prompt. Superb! We are pleased to read you enjoyed your dining with us and thank you for your review. We hope to see you again soon.

We opted for the highly-recommended 6-course option for a birthday lunch and were NOT disappointed. The food was both interesting and delicious, served by knowledgable friendly staff with a well judged pace. The whole meal was exceptional value for money considering the extremely high quality and professional attention to detail. Wine was also very good (albeit expensive as always) and every plate was virtually licked clean. Verveine was an excellent discovery to which we shall undoubtedly return - and soon!

We were greeted by a very friendly and funny barman. We ordered dinner, which was delicious, and were looked after by a lovely waitress. We didnât need pudding but they were too tempting to resist! Am glad we didnât resist as they too were delicious. The landlord chatted to us and recommended a few places to visit. Overall an excellent evening. Thank you!
