Popped in here around 1.30pm to see if we could get some lunch. The next serving was at 2.30pm so we decided to wait. The bar area is warm and welcoming and the staff were friendly. We were taken to our table on time for the carvery lunch. It's a very small restaurant but nice and clean and comfy. The food was fine, it was freshly cooked and nice and hot.I think it was £14.95 per person - it was Christmas lunch rather than regular Sunday lunch - which was pretty good value.I'd visit again.

Fish & Chip Restaurant & Takeaway
Had scampi asked if it was whole tail which the young lady didnât know and had to check quite a delay for food to arrive. Had to ask for sauces as none on the table food mediocre chips on the cool side far far too much salad garnish especially on the chees burger on both roll and side of plate. Really donât think we would both again for the price

My first ever visit, despite having lived in the area for more than a decade. I was the guest of old friends who travelled 70 miles to get here. I knew from the moment I entered the front door that a wonderful evening was in store. The drawing room, with its open fire and collection of books, reminded me of a country house. It might have been a perfect location for a murder mystery. Instead, I simply mirdered the wonderful food on offer! Lovingly prepared; beautifully presented; novel combinations of flavours; ingredients as fresh as the air outside. But served with enormous warmth - nothing was too much trouble. The table had been meticulously set and the timing between courses was exactly right. The quality of Clinton's food is unparalleled anywhere on the Marsh, while it would be impossible for anyone to make a stranger more welcome than did Lisa, whose explanation of each course as it arrived was reminiscent of the practice found in top French restaurants. And I don't normally eat desserts but here I demolished the lot - and after a plate of duck and the trimmings that was as good as any I have ever tasted. It was my very first visit; needless to say, it will not be my last!.This is a gastronomic experience - and how!

Pop in to plough inn on Sunday evening for family dinner , my steak pudding was nice but my wife had chicken and ham hock pie which was below par ! , my daughter had basil pasta which again was below wot we expected ! , first pint of fullers ale not great â¹ï¸I am confused firstly pesto pasta can be nothing other than what it says pasta and pesto sauce a simple dish so I am unsure what you were expecting but apologize if you did not enjoy , your pie is one of our best sellers so again I am bemused as to why you would say nothing at the time but instead wait and post a negative review on this forum and finally your pint of Fullerâs we have only tried the fullers Oliverâs island for the first time this week it is clearly not to your taste but I have sold the entire barrel so proof is in the pudding so to speak I am the first to raise my hands if something is genuinely wrong but misconception of what a dish is is not grounds for a negative review but I do thank you for taking the time to write your review but I would rather you had said something at the time and then I could have dealt with it accordingly. After hopping off the little train we looked for a nice lunch somewhere. Always tricky when weâve got our little dog with us. And we didnât want chips! Well, what a gem we found. Maryâs Tea Room is beautiful. The decor is so pretty. Love the tea cups hanging from the chandelier. And they allowed pup to come in. (He is very tiny and very good)We had a really nice lunch. The menu is simple but it is more than adequate. The girls serving were very polite. Wish we had one like this closer to home.

A gem of a place, huge menu a bit worrying but in fact thoughtfully and skillfully produced. Moules marinieres superb, halloumi salad really great - fresh, peppers gently softened to bring out the flavour. Cheerful and friendly. Loved it.Thanks for your great feedback

Went for the first time Saturday night. Very old pub in small village. There is a snooker table right by the bar which had a noisy crowd although not the fault of the pub. Three tables ordering food but still waited three quarters of an hour before our order was taken and onother hour before it actually arrived. The food when we eventually got it was very good. All veg was fresh and pies looked home made. The meals are extremely large though so wouldnât advise having a starter. Unfortunately nobody came back to ask if we wanted desserts or coffees until we prompted them. On saying that, staff were friendly when you finally got to see them.

My son and I were visiting the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway for the day and l was looking for somewhere to have lunch and after seeing previous reviews decided to walk here We were not disappointed the food was amazing we both had the bacon & onion pudding off the specials board with mash and three lovely vegetables. We are also real ale lovers and l allways try to find a pub with local beers so this was ideal as we had a few pints of excellent Master Brew & Spitfire

Join us for a traditional Cream Tea (£8.90 for 2)or treat yourself to a Vintage Afternoon Tea (£19.50 for 2) - Scones baked daily and always a choice of homemade cakes. Our Tearoom is very quaint & welcoming, or if sunny why not sit in our courtyard garde
We can honestly say the best tearooms we have found in Kent no exaggeration! All staff were really friendly and efficient even though it is a really busy popular place. We sat in the pretty courtyard garden and had a vintage afternoon tea. Real loose leaf tea, lovely vintage China and cutlery, exceptional scones, clotted cream and jam home made cake and sandwiches. We were offered more hot water to top up the tea and could have stayed as long as we wanted to as no rush to move us on even though the table could have been used. We will return!
