Reviews on British food in Kirriemuir, Scotland, United Kingdom. Kirriemuir, sometimes called Kirrie, is a burgh in Angus, Scotland. Its history reaches back to earliest recorded times, when it seems to have been a major ecclesiastical centre. Later it was identified with witchcraft, and some older houses still feature a ‘witches stane’ to ward off evil. In the 19th century, it was an important centre of the jute trade. The playwright J.M. Barrie was born and buried here, and a statue of Peter Pan stands in the town square.

Located within The Clubhouse, The restaurant is a comfortable, relaxed environment with a newly upgraded contemporary feel. In our restaurant our tables are by windows offering stunning views of the James Braid designed golf course and Angus Glens of Scot

The Drovers Inn is an intriguing pub and restaurant offering both a traditional Scottish inn atmosphere and contemporary fine dining. Situated midway between Forfar and Kirriemuir,in the little village of Memus.Enjoy a hearty meal and a well earned ale by
Went for lunch here as they are doggy friendly. We ate from the bar menu and had a burger which came topped with pulled pork and cheese, chips (which were fantastic) and salad and a scampi and chips with salad. The food was delicious and portions were large. We were served by a very nice waitress and the place had a definitely lovely country pub feel. We were stuffed full. Whatâs not to like. Recommended Thank for your review and recommendation. We are delighted you had such a good experience with us and hopefully see you again with the dog!

Takeaway Chip Shop
Donât go often as weâre slightly outside Kirrie, but we did take advantage of the home delivery they were offering as a one off in the bad weather, and it was fantastic, great fish, chips and sausage suppers. Would definitely use more often if they offered delivery.
A very friendly bar & restaurant run by members of a local community group serving delicious homemade food at very affordable prices. Aim of the business to donate profits to local causes & charities.

Enjoyed an evening meal here recently. The welcome into the Thrums was warm and the staff were friendly. The Soup was hot & tasty, the Fish was fresh and served with Crisp Chips, Veg and Tartare Sauce. Quite a good menu and Reasonably priced too. The surroundings are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable - Well worth a visit.

This cafe has a limited menu. Coffee was good. Food was acceptable, only. Service friendly but rather lacking in care and attention

Dropped in for lunch. Friendly service with a good menu with some different dishes available like crayfish tacos as well as more conventional dishes like fish and chips. Good choice of vegetarian options and vegan although we had to ask about the vegan options as they are not marked on the menu. Tasty food, good value for money. Service could be a little quicker but we werenât in a hurry. Thank you for your review. We do have a separate vegan menu which I hope was made available to you. Thanks

We took our Kinfolk to this wonderful family friendly eating establishment for a great lunch, which was lovely and a reasonably priced combo. The Staff are very friendly and hospitable. We would highly recommend this excellent cafe with an adjacent gift shop for browsing. Well worth a visit. Enjoy Cheers John

Worth a trip out here to sample lovely, delicious home cooked and baked goodies. We've been a few time, mostly at the weekend. This visit was a Friday morning, on this occasion things felt a little on the back foot, like they were not really prepared for a full house or maybe not enough staff. Menu is always limited and differs from the weekend ( which isn't big either) but that everything is cooked fresh to order, therefore takes a wee while. Soups are always quirky flavours and very delicious. Then there are the cakes and scones again odd combinations but so good. They also dated well for gluten free.Dog friendly, lovely friend oh staff too.

This newly opened café sits in a good location in the town. It isnât large but feels quite spacious due to its contemporary décor. Exposed stonework and reclaimed wood. The menu is quite adventurous and slightly different in its choices.Unfortunately, the decaffeinated coffee offered was very poor quality. This is due to their supplier not being able to provide a suitable product to match that of their normal coffee. Iâm sure they will sort this out soon. Perhaps putting sugar on the tables and providing teaspoons would also help! I think this café will do very well once all the teething problems are ironed out. Many thanks for your review Suzanne and you are right we are looking for a stronger, more flavoursome decaf coffee. Our other coffee options from Sacred Grounds are exceptional and it's such a shame they don't offer a decaf option but we will keep looking. As with any new venture we do have some teething problems to resolve but we appreciate people's patience as we get going
