Not what youâd call fine dining but decent food and good value. Friendly, efficient service. Nice atmosphere, considering how large the main restaurant is. Good disabled access and facilities. It shouldnât be necessary to make this comment as everywhere should provide these but sadly this doesnât seem to be the case for many restaurants in the Manchester area.Dear David_WokinghamThank you for posting such a lovely review following your recent visit to usIts great to hear that you enjoyed great friendly service with a nice atmosphere and that the food was good value for moneyWe will be sure to pass all of your positive comments onto the team

Party of 10 for daughters 16th birthday. The food was ordered in advance and a deposit taken due to the group booking. Everything was excellent and we all enjoyed the main courses and deserts. The staff are great and looked after us and we never felt rushed at anytime. Will happily return at some point in the future.

We are an English Tearoom situated in the heart of Burys Millgate Shopping Centre. We provide a full waitress service and we serve anything from light snacks to a three course meal and we specialise in Afternoon Tea. We serve a wide selection of loose lea
Good choices and inexpensive food in nice surroundings. Close to all the shops and the Market.Food is good and hearty and there is plenty of choice even for my Gluten free Wife. We never leave disappointed from Leckenbyâs. The staff are great and Georgia and the rest of the girls are a credit to the restaurant and management.Perfect lunchtime treat!

Step on board our traditional Pullman style carriages and be transported back in time to an age where to dine by train, was the height of sophistication. Enjoy first class service and fine dining behind one of our historic steam engines whilst journeying
Murder Mystery Experience inc Dinner on train - first the bad news!Had to stand on draughty platform for 30 minutes whilst the complications of the "Murder" were explained (Turns out the Murder had already happened!)Suitably frozen to death (most but not all diners had dressed for the occasion so were really cold) we boarded the train where our glass of fizz and starter were already waiting for us - very nice but fizz had been poured for some time so a bit warm!Train left just after 7.30 and actors passed through carriages not really helping us solve the murder!Train then stopped at a station for us to disembark onto platform to examine "clues" to the murder - this was not explained at outset so we decided t remain warm on board rather than face another chilling!Main course of dinner was not served for about another 30 mins after train re-started it's journey, dessert & coffee eventually followed - much too long and really drawn out!But worse to follow - at end of journey we all had to gather once more on the freezing platform for a very long 15 mins or so, to be "addressed" by organiser to find out the identity of the murderer.Good News! Food was excellent and serving staff impressive.Verdict - We would eat on this train again but the Murder Mystery Experience was , frankly, an ordeal.CaptainR222,Thank you for leaving a review. I am glad that both the food and service met your expectations. Our interactive Murder Mystery evenings are extremely popular and I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy this part of your experience. Due to the layout of the train, the opening scenes are performed on the platform as it would not be possible to do this onboard. I appreciate the weather was not the warmest on the evening in question, had you requested we would have gladly boarded you early and asked the inspector to pass on any relevant information once departed. The stop at Ramsbottom is so customers can look for clues and interact with the suspects. Again this is optional and they will happily divulge any missed information to customers who choose to remain onboard. In regards to the starter and glass of fizz. These are placed on the tables just before boarding. I am sorry that your fizz was a bit warm and I will speak to all staff to ensure that it is not being poured too early. The overall journey time is just over two and a half hours allowing sufficient time for customers to enjoy a three course meal (soon to be four), tea or coffee and solve the murder. I am pleased that you would return for one of our other dining experiences and hope to welcome you back in the future.Kind Regards,Michelle McNamara Deputy Manager

Called for chippy tea after long week at work. Freshly ordered fish was the best I've tasted. The place was spotless. Always a good sign when the queue is outside the door. There is also a dining area at the rear. Will be popping in more often from now on.Staff were all friendly and engaged well with customers.

Open from 7am till 2pm Monday to Friday and 10am till 1pm Sunday serving a wide range of snack, hot and cold sandwiches, All Day Breakfast and tasty lunches
Had a Minted Lamb Baguette from here and it was the nicest taste to ever grace my mouth. The service is always fantastic and friendly. Its probably the cleanest café ive ever been too as well. Also has really good prices and an interesting menu rather than the same boring meals every café has available. Highly recommended guys.

Been coming here for many years and have been treated tonight, for my birthday, to some lovely extras. As usual a warm greeting and excellent food. The Pork Cheeks were superb and both of us had Roast Turbot which was impeccable. Chef David is innovative and cooks dishes that are so tasty. Many thanks for a great evening Lorraine, Lisa and David.

A newly refurbished gastro-pub Located on the outskirts of Lancashire's countryside, The Bird at Birtle promises to deliver sumptuous, flavoursome dishes, local cask ales and heart-warming drinks in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Our Bar opening time
I am leaving this review after already emailing feedback directly to The Bird. Their lack of response speaks volumes about their level of customer care. When we booked the table we were informed that the bar was not available due to a private function. This was fine, so arranged to visit another pub prior to arriving so we could have pre-dinner drinks. What was not explained was the impact the function would have on our evening. On arrival we had to walk straight through the middle of a very noisy wedding reception, live act playing, across the dance floor to access the stairs. This was a route that had to be repeated every time you wanted the toilets and to leave at the end of the night. This was extremely awkward and not something I would expect to have to do.Once shown to our table we stood up to leave due to the noise of the live act filtering through the floor. The live act, combined with the music from the restaurant and vibrating floor made it impossible to hear ourselves think let alone have a conversation.Another table was prepared on the opposite side of the restaurant where we continued our evening, with slightly less noise but with the live act still clearly audible. With regards to the service, we felt hurried throughout the meal with 2 different waitresses asking if we were enjoying the food, prior to us even tasting it. Dessert menus were provided and 30 seconds later we were being asked for our dessert order. The Irish coffee that was served had to be sent back as it quite literally tasted like dish water. We both left The Bird very disappointed, agreeing that would be our last visit. The layout of the venue is not suitable for both private events and public dining simultaneously. Also, although friendly and polite the young service team really need direction from someone with more Customer service experience to teach and develop them, and learn how to build a rapport with the customers.
