We went with friends one Saturday evening. I had the beef and stilton pie which was absolutely delicious and huge! So huge I couldn't managed a pudding, which was a shame because they all sounded and looked fabulous. My husband had the millionaire's fish pie which was equally good and managed to put away a pud too. Would recommend booking as it was very busy but the service was good and the staff very friendly.

Visited recently for lunch whilst staying in a nearby village. We both had a sandwich. My beef and horseradish sandwich was way to big. Ok I know its unusual but I personally think sometimes less is more! Unfortunately the multitude of beef was a bit tough and I could not taste any horseradish! I realise it is not the fault of the premises but we were also pestered by wasps whilst sitting outside in the lovely weather on the day. My wife enjoyed her cheddar and pickle sandwich to be fair.

Menu very vast - so vast in fact we struggled to choose. In the end I went for the garlic mushrooms then vegetable lasagne then banoffee pie. Lovely food albeit a little stodgey! Our dog enjoyed the evening also although he wasnât offered any treats :(

Attended the Packhorse recently after 2 other visits.A really friendly welcome awaits you from the owner. The food is excellent and he is genuinely interested in making sure you enjoy your visit.Would highly recommend and will return next time Iâm in the Buxton area.

A warm, friendly pub with well appointed rooms, which are tastefully furnished. Our meals were well presented and extremely enjoyable. It's a shame that the chef still decided to include, when asked not to, certain items from the menu choice. The service was really slow, with our dessert arriving 35 minutes after we ordered .. lemon meringue - key lime pie on the menu. Our dessert was returned! The chef appeared at one point with a number of visible rips across his shirt .. which doesn't seem very professional. It is beautiful venue, which in my opinion, is let down by poor management.

Traditional tearoom serving breakfast, light lunches, cream teas and homemade cakes.Inside and outside seating, dogs and muddy boots welcome.Parking available.
Our visit and review really just mirror all the previous complimentary comments: great service, very dog-friendly, fabulous value, more tea than you can drink, delicious Bakewell sponge cake, clean toilets and off-street parking. We loved sitting outside -though dog-friendly inside too - in the village watching the world go by. Our dog Lucy was even provided with her own mat and we enjoyed a parade of tractors going by! Think they are open Thursday to Sunday, but just check so you won't miss out. Enjoy!

Despite being close to closing time on a late May Sunday afternoon, we were welcomed in as though we were the first customers of the day. The seating was a little cramped and still busy inside.Really enjoyed the coffee and cake, which set us up for the journey home.Thank you for visiting us

English Bar & Restaurant - with a difference. Jump on board and enjoy a range of food and drink on our platform and two train carriages!
We stopped over by chance for an evening meal and advised there would be a forty five minute wait for food so was was pleasantly surprised when we were served very shortly after placing the order.Although the portions of the main meal were not large they were adequate for our needs. We had choc sundae for dessert which were excellent. The interior decor was also rather quirky as set out in the style of an old fashioned rail carriage

The Waterloo Inn is a traditional Country pub in the Peak District Village of Biggin-by-Hartington. We offer traditional homemade food and Real Ales. There is a large Beer Garden and patio area for the better weather and an open Fire inside for those cold
6 of us called in off the Tissington Trail Bank Holiday Monday a polite barmaid explained they had just taken a large food order but would fetch out menus as soon as possible before we had finished our first drinks she had brought out menus and after ordering food it was not long before being served, generous portions and good quality highly recommended.

Welcome to our family run, country pub in the heart of buxton. Here you will find selection of our homecookes meals, quility ales & much more.
Haven't managed to visit Hartington for a couple of years so we were wowed by the renovation at our favourite pub. It looks amazing.I'm pleased to say that the welcome and food hadn't changed - they were excellent as on previous visits. We were a group of 9 for Sunday lunch and each of us had a lovely meal, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back, hopefully sooner next time.
