I just can't believe we have driven past so often and not stopped. Seafood was excellent, and the sizzling steak looked wonderful too. Portions were hearty, food piping hot and delicious, service friendly and efficient. View from our table hard to beat on this glorious if windy April day. What more could you ask for.

A beautiful country pub and farm shop in Lisbane, near the shores of Strangford Lough. Emphasis on fresh local produce, pub grub classics and seafood from the lough. Michelin recommended 2014 and 2015.

This cafe/deli/shop is simply wonderful and we try and get here at least once on our trips back (we were lucky and made it twice this time). Service is consistently good, the food is outstanding whether it's breakfast, lunch or just a coffee and one of their superb homebakes - you'll be spoilt for choice. Using local produce it's a delight to visit and we're assured of quality every time. Never disappoints.

Popped in for breakfast this morning with my baby twins and was very impressed with the selection of food available (and the fact my very wide pram was able to fit through the front door - it's not always guaranteed!). Sam and Georgie gave us such a warm welcome and were very accomodating, even scrambling up some eggs for my little ones. I ordered the breakfast wrap which came quickly and was hot, fresh and delicious. I even had the chance to explore the garden and was amazed, it is beautiful and far larger than I had expected! In short - lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food. I'll be back again soon and very much look forward to enjoying a coffee in the garden. What a haven.Cara, it was so lovely meeting you- your babies are scrumptious! I'm so glad you found us, and we look forward to seeing you again very soon! (I'll try to remember some bubbles for the wee ones next time!)x

Ordered chicken burger with cheese and onion rings and it was horrible. Despite advertising a battered chicken fillet burger I received a chicken fillet in breadcrumbs served with 3 greasy onion rings and in a brioche bun rather than a sesame seed bap which was also advertised. No Salad or sauce served in burger and a handful off chips on the side. Also ordered was a roast beef dinner, the roast beef was tough and chewy and vegetables were not peeled completely. Mixed grill was the last meal ordered and again was just about edible. Sausages are off very poor quality. Place smells like a bathroom and tables are not regularly cleaned. Extremely slow service and terrible quality off food. Would not recommend. £29 for a meal you didn’t enjoy is ridiculous. Staff didn’t even know who had ordered what. Female staff was rude and quite oblivious to anyone around her. Better chippies elsewhere.

As frequent visitors of the "Little Eddy's" coffee shop, we had noticed a steady decline since the departure of key staff some months ago. More recently the menu has shrunk to include only the most basic of items, all of which involve little more than opening a jar and putting ingredients on a plate - no chef required. Still okay for coffee and tray bakes, but for food you will need to go to the main restaurant next door.

We had heard a lot about this place and had read the reviews. Our expectations were therefore raised. The service was particularly slow with a large portion of the wine consumed before our orders were taken. The menu was indeed extensive and looked promising however the end product did not live up to expectations. Unfortunately rather average. We have eaten in a large number of fish restaurants around the world but this one is some way off the pace. Closer to home the Boat House on the island of Gigha and Cafe Fish in Tobermory are hugely better. Overall not worth the drive to Kircubbin.HiThanks for taking the time to leave a review which has left us all quite shocked!I would love to hear from you to confirm when you dined with us, what you had that was rather average, to discuss the service as it does not ring any bells with our manager or supervisors who do not remember any diners waiting any length of time more than usual to place an order, or any diners who consumed a large portion of wine while waiting, or when checked while dining if there was any problems/issues with their chosen dishes.I'm delighted you have eaten in a lot of restaurants around the world but to say we are off the pace is laughable, we are booked well in advance, we serve only fresh local ingredients, we will keep doing what we do and we do very well, obviously the other diners who leave a review on tripadvisor do not know what they are talking about!By recommending to people the Boat House on the Island of Gigha and Cafe Fish in Tobermory (closer to home HELLO) you could maybe supply the ferry to get the customers from Northern Ireland over to Scotland.I look forward to hearing from you, please ring me on 028427 38222.CheersLeigh

An unplanned coffee stop while in the town led to this great find. What started as just a coffee and scone visit led to staff bringing a lunch specials board. We were easily swayed by a breaded monkfish starter as a light lunch and ... it was brilliant.About 6-8 pieces with a large mixed leaf salad and garlic mayo dip. Light crisp breadcrumbs and well cooked fish was lovely. Both presentation and quality was fantastic.Regular attention from staff and final check by owner/chef was appreciated and not overboard. I'll definately return to try a full meal soon.

Came here on recommendation from a friend. Husband ordered the farmhouse fry which was like a standard fry but double with additional beans- he couldn’t finish it. I choose the normal fry which again was like a belly buster fry. The homemade hash brown with cheese and onion is delicious and very filling. Staff attentive and really quick service. Would definitely recommend and return next time we head off down the coast
