A highlight of our puddings was the Creme Brulee with a perfect crispy top . . The Drinks prices were reasonable . Staff excellent . Even though the Restaurant was busy we had excellent service. .HelloThank you for taking the time to review us. I really appreciate your comments with regards to the staff and food. Called in Saturday 6.00pm after day out. This is our usual go to for a consistent decent meal. Seated quickly, but then seemingly forgotten about for some while to order food. I ordered risotto with asparagus & beans. Minute portion, was like slush rice pudding, couple of small sliced asparagus & virtually no beans. Famished after full day it & finished in around half a dozen mouthfuls.Apparantly asked & told new chef started that week.May be OK with burgers, fries & easy dishes, but his skills fell short on the risotto. Wife's meal okay, but was plain chicken.Very poor & disappointing for money.Made worse because we passed the Knowles Arms, our favourite in order to go Hyndburn nearer home.May be some time now I will part with my money there again,& probably go to the Park where the food is superior.

Set in its own grounds, adjacent to St Bartholomew's Church in the old Lancashire mill town of Great Harwood, stands the iconic period building of Churchfield House. Built in the 1850's it has now been lovingly restored and boasts a fine Tea room on the g
I've been three times now for afternoon tea and each time it has been wonderful. Where do they get their volunteers from? They are absolute gems. Nothing is too much trouble. You can feel their pride in the surroundings and the food. Everything is homemade and absolutely delicious. It's always a total treat and amazing value for money. I want to try their Sunday lunch sometime soon.

This grade 2 listed building set in the heart of the Ribble Valley has recently been renovate to a high standard, both inside and out but still in keeping with the country feel. We think our beer garden is one of the best in the area. Our food offering is
We were staying close by on holiday and went for dinner. The pub looks fairly recently refurbished in a contemporary, comfortable style with tasteful and relaxing colours. Staff were welcoming.Food was excellent - an interesting menu. We only had main courses but they were great - a rich cheese and onion pie - seemed home made and the flat iron steak was very tender and succulent with hot crisp fries. The accompaniments were fresh and tasty.Good value - would highly recommend.

The Autisan café is run by the Autism charity within the ground of Whalley Abbey. It has a good and reasonably priced menu but strangely it quotes prices for tea/coffee with a cake but not for tea or coffee on their own; also, the kitchen wasnât open when we visited which made 50% of the menu unavailable. We chose coffee and a buttered scone- the coffee was very weak but the scone, butter and strawberry jam, was excellent. One complaint though, our table was extremely sticky, sadly something I really dislike in any café,Hi BobThank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Glad you enjoyed your scone, they are a firm customer favorite. The menus for the drinks are in the little boxes on the table (separate from the food menu). We do check that they are replenished when customers remove them but we will definitely step this up!Really sorry about your sticky table and I know the table you are talking about (table 1 near the door). We are going to get this table re varnished, as the weather has improved, the sun shines directly through the door onto the table, somehow its has began to affect the varnish. Its already booked in for a facelift!Do come back and see us againBest Wishes

2nd visit to Scholars restaurant. And yet again it didn't disappoint. Every course was superb. I had the most amazing soup stater. Followed by Lancashire cheese pie, vegetables and sauce. Chocolate mousse and ice cream. My wife had Thai fish cakes starter. Beef Wellington with vegetables for main. Lemen posset for desert. All were first class food. And you can also have a nice glass of wine. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. 5 stars for us. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, you support and feedback is appreciated. We hope to see you at Scholars again soon.

Saturday afternoon. Out for a few drinks and feeling peckish. This place has a largish menu, with a specials board, so there's plenty to choose from. We had scampi (which apparently was more than acceptable) and the home made meat pie. Fab service, great food, lovely people and very reasonably priced. We'd definitely come here to eat again.

I first used this chippy 40 years ago when it was commonly referred to as âthe best chippy in the worldâ With being in the area, I thought I would try it for lunch. It has changed inside the cafe area and the counter has altered. The chips were always excellent, lovely and crisp. I was very pleased that the high standards have been maintained.
