4 of us visited an a saturday evening, the place was welcoming and quite busy. We were seated in the conservatory, drinks were ordered and brought to the table along with the menus. Our order consisted of appetisers, 2 portions of garlic mushrooms and one bruschetta, the mains were a scampi, two burgers and a lasagne and a side order of onion rings. All the food was very good, and the plates were cleared. The burgers were very solid tasty meat and served on a brioche bun, just superb and the french fries were fresh homemade and gorgeous, and the onion rings also homemade and not greasy at all. Staff were friendly and attentive and we will be back.

A slightly upmarket lunch choice for us, (code for costing a little more than we might normally spend), Peppered Pig is an occasional tregat. Chosen today for itâs cosy and unhurried feel, beautifully open outlook, lovely food from an ever evolving menu and, not least, itâs ability to provide actual choice for the vegetarians in the party. As it was our vegetarian sonâs birthday, we were always going to prioritise quality and choice based on this, but in fact what unfolded was a very lovely time together over outstanding food, all of us in the ending making a vegetarian choice and not regretting it. The food was delicioso, and we were in no way rushed. The food took a sufficient time to know that it had all been prepared from fresh, (donât you find you can taste the difference?), in fact I would have been concerned had it arrived much sooner, though to be fair we had set time aside to enjoy together, so we were able to make the most of our time before, during and after the meal. Drinks too were excellent, in fact everything that passed our lips was exceptional, all adding to a wonderful birthday experience, meaning that, come time to pay, the cost was not at all unreasonable. The lunchtime atmosphere of Peppered Pig might best be described as understated genteel, which is not something you encounter every day of the week. All in all, this was undoubtedly our best experience here yet, and it has left us looking forward very much to the next time, whenever that may be.

We arrived without a booking ,greeted by Jack who found us a table.Despite the fact that he was very young he was both personable and professional.I had a Burrito cold salad and will be having it again when I return. We were sat in close proximity to a table of 4 one who continually asked for gravy and the staff obliged. The customer service and staff were excellent and they were really busy.Thankyou for taking the time to review your visit to Aire and Calder. It's always great for us to hear that our guests have enjoyed their visit. We aim to serve up great memories and hospitality for all of our guests and I'm glad you feel we did so on this occasion. Your feedback will be shared with our dedicated team.We look forward to welcoming you back to our restaurant soon.

A Hidden Gem down the cobbled streets of Howden. This family run business serves traditional family dining along with unique international evenings and hot sizzle stone steaks A Warm and comfortable atmosphere with good food
Our second visit here as there isn't much choice locally to eat on an evening. The food was still of a poor standard. The steak was very tough :( service was better this time though. It seems the grumpy waitress has left. Can't see us going back though.

Relaxed place to dine and drink in the centre of Howden. For a full view of our menu please visit our website.
The food was lovely and the starter was well worth the 37 minute wait - the main meal was nice but again well worth the 52 minute wait, glad we were not in a rush or needing to be somewhere else, the lovely waitress i think her name was Rebecca was very polite whilst being extremely over worked - well done that girl! The wait however would put us off going again.

The Kings Head is a very old traditional village pub, full of character, dating back to the 1800's. We are a family-run establishment, suplying great food, homemade and locally sourced, served by friendly staff in a pleasent and comfortable enviroment.
Visited the kings head at Barmby on the Marsh tonight. This is a beautiful homely country pub. The food is absolutely fantastic, we had three courses and all equally as great as each other. Very good value for money, the staff are great very accommodating. A very good golden nugget. We will defiantly be back.Regards Andy & Denise

Fish and chip shop located in the little village Howden, East Riding of Yorkshire. **MEAL DEALS AND CHILDRENS MEALS AVAILABLE DAILY** ~~Private parking and small outdoor seating area~~
A first time at this chippy. Fish freshly cooked and a good size. I would have preferred the chips to be a bit more crispy but they still tasted good. We waited for as long as it took to cook the fish. And a bonus.....scraps!! Will be going back.

Some friends recommended La Anchor, and we weren't disappointed! The owners was so helpful and friendly, there was a good selection of pizza and fresh pasta and specials. Be warned, the portions are huge, but you can take any you can't manage home :-) The staff were so attentive but not at all intrusive. A great place which is fully booked every night, with good reason. Can't wait to go back! So pleased to hear your friends recommend La Anchor and clearly you all had a great time and enjoyed our food and many thanks for taking the time to share a lovely review, see you again soon...All the Beat - The La Anchor Team.
