The Builder's Arms is a traditional local pub, serving up a warm, friendly welcome as well as great food and beer. The relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful beer garden makes it the perfect spot for a quiet pint, while on Sunday it's the best pub in Croydon
Going to the Palace v West Ham game found this pub by accident and what a pleasant surprise it was. A great pub with a well kept selection of Fullers beers. We didn't eat but the food looked good. The landlord even gave us a taster of the guest beer, Highly recommended, Will be going back here next season.Hi There,Thank you for leaving a review with us,We are so pleased to hear your experience with us was great! your feedback will be passed on to management. Nice to keep updating on the Station Fish Bar, near Sanderstead railway station keeps up the good frying, great portions and friendly service. We are lucky to have numerous guests from overseas, who have eaten Station Fish Bar's cod and haddock and chips and when they return the choice of a visit to a local restaurant or pub is kindly rejected in favour of the fish and chips!

While the service was friendly, the food was very uninspiring and sub-par - I ordered a classic ploughmanâs lunch (what could be more âpub grubâ?), and it was unappetising, visually and in taste. Nowadays, there are so many good places to eat, and people are far more demanding than in the past. This place will not survive unless it improves its act.

Discover the famous flavour of freshly prepared food, chargrilled to perfection at our Grade II listed Coombe Lodge steak restaurant! Enjoy one of the largest beer gardens in Croydon, seating over 250 people!
Living locally sometimes it's easier to just head here and hope for the best! We were greeted with a lovely looking new menu this time, mostly burgers, but nice looking all the same. Service wasn't bad, the ribs, steak and burger we had for mains were, on the whole, enjoyable. The chips were another matter! Gone were the amazing triple cooked chips that made this place special, replaced by horrible, cheap skinny fries that shouldn't have even been cooked once! Sort it out or you'll loose all of your local customers. We'd hoped to make amends with desert but seriously, don't bother. The rocky road is about the only thing on the menu that is palatable and that's if you like that sort of thing. The rest was awful.

We booked our table for 6, so excited as we were recommended it! I honestly was very satisfied and so were the other 5 family members. We choose different dishes and each dish was amazing I personally went for the crusted lamb shank it was mouth watering and cooked to perfection each one of us finished with clean plates. Our waiter Zsolt was very helpful as we had some dietary requirements, I had also preordered a cake for a birthday celebration and it was spot on The decor and interior of the place is very beautiful and chic. I must say all staff were very kind and hospitable. To start off we got our drinks and warm bread was served to us with butter and towards the end you are given a minted chocolate which to me is always a special touch. Keep going really enjoyed our experience.

Great atmosphere., lovely staff and delicious food what more can you want. The menu is so inviting it is hard to decide what to have. Cater for vegetarians and vegans. Also dog friendly although probably too loud for them when there is live music Looking forward to sunny evenings to enjoy the lovely garden

Very busy morning. Where shall we four go for a late lunch at very short notice? The Chateau was nearby and there to welcome us into calm surroundings and atmosphere. No problem. Immediately a fresh table was laid up for us.Fixed menu was partaken. All the food was freshly cooked and served.A very pleasant lunch without any rush for us to leave. We each had different food from the menu and we enjoyed it very much. The manager (Farid) gave us his personal attention. We had value for money and will return for lunch.

We booked the restaurant area of Fairleigh 19, for my husbands birthday celebration. Everything about this venue is 5 star, from the location, to meeting the events staff and organising-the details of the event, to the day itself. The layout, with attention to detail including fairy lights was perfect, being introduced to the staff members in person who would be helping the event go smoothly, to the chef being present, carving the meat joints, to the wide variety of starter courses and desert courses. The whole event was perfect, with everyone working as a team. Thank you to the whole team at Fairleigh's, you made such a big impression on everyone who attended and making my husbands celebration, such a memorable event.

Little Bay Restaurants have been offering high-quality Modern-European cuisine for very reasonable prices since its creation in 1992. With a selection of starters, mains and desserts, as well as a comprehensive wine menu, Little Bay has everything for eve
Back to Little Bay today for lunch. We've been there many, many times and never been disappointed....until today. First, the good: the Sicilian service was superb: attentive, welcoming helpful and efficient and could not be bettered anywhere. The atmosphere was its usual relaxed quirky self. The Brunch value is excellent. The quite good: our lunch, albeit tepid and less than piping hot actually tasted very good. The definitely not good: there were only two other diners in the restaurant but it took nearly half an hour for our food to arrive. Just not acceptable. When it arrived it was not piping hot. Just not acceptable. The muffins were tough, hard and difficult to cut. Most items on the Brunch menu offer Hash Browns. We'd been seated for a good ten minutes after give our order before the ( really lovely and charming) waitress came to tell us that there was only one Hash Brown left in the kitchen and that one of us would have to choose something else. Just not acceptable: if you are missing a prime ingredient of most of the dishes on a menu you should just not continue to offer it. What a pity: we will go back again for the atmosphere and the lovely service and the evening atmosphere but will be wary of ever going back again at lunch time. It seems silly to open in such a half-hearted way at all....and it will drive customers away.

I decided to treat myself to fish and chips on a Friday after work. The queues are long but their system is faultless - they definitely know how to run their takeaway. I ordered cod and chips and both were excellent. I personally would have preferred crispier chips which is the usual with them but it was a busy Friday night, so they can be forgiven. I think a weekday fish and chips is probably better than a busy Friday or Saturday night.
