Find out what British restaurants to try in Cotswolds. The Cotswolds (/ˈkɒtswoʊldz/ KOTS-wohldz, /-wəldz/ -wəldz) is an area in south central England containing the Cotswold Hills, a range of rolling hills which rise from the meadows of the upper Thames to an escarpment, known as the Cotswold Edge, above the Severn Valley and Evesham Vale. The area is defined by the bedrock of Jurassic limestone that creates a type of grassland habitat rare in the UK and that is quarried for the golden coloured Cotswold stone. It contains unique features derived from the use of this mineral; the predominantly rural landscape contains stone-built villages, historical towns and stately homes and gardens. The population of the District is about 84,000.

Visited on Wednesday for a quiet coffee. As always, the warmest welcome awaited and the service excellent. Genuinely enjoyed the nicest Eccles cake I had EVER tasted, warmed perfectly in the oven, served with a latte. A little gem in a lovely village.

Possibly due to the reviews we were expecting something really exceptional and sadly it wasnât.The menu had lots of choice. The premises were exactly as expected. The disappointing thing about here was the service. It seemed to be a huge effort for the lady behind the till to serve us. She was impatient as we tried to decide what we wanted and came across as quite rude. Iâm sure it must be annoying to have paying customers, who have never been before, and have seen such great reviews (and one verbal recommendation) need to take a bit of time to assess the menu but if you are the âwelcomeâ face of a business you need to hide your annoyance better.Iâm very sorry that we inconvenienced you!!I am very sorry to hear that you were not happy with the service you were given. We strive to make everyone feel welcome and to always offer a friendly and polite service, even when faced with the most challenging customers. It appears we failed on this occasion for which I apologise and I will remind everyone to try harder, no matter what the circumstances are. Thank you for your feedback.

We stopped at Stow on the Wold in the middle of a long and tiring drive and found the Hive. It could not have been more perfect. A warm welcome as we came through the door, a comfy corner to relax, freshly brewed leaf tea, scrumptious scones and home made preserves. Fantastic.

Visited 2 occasions - Staff - Extremely friendly and welcoming, asking various questions to ensure your baguette is up to top standard. Quality of baguette - By far the best baguette I've ever been made, soft with excellent portion sized filings. Cannot put any fault on this place, they delivered twice with excellent tasty baguettes. I hope one day to re-visit!Thanks

Great value light bites and we were there for lunch so didn't want a big meal.Very attractive and appeared clean. Plenty of space between tables.Good cream tea. Sandwiches come with chips salad and coleslaw.Jacket potato with pulled pork was ample but a bit sweeter than I would like. The sour cream was a nice touch.Cotswold IPA very nice. And service with a smile. The only less than perfect points - 1 reject lettuce leaf and they don't do pizzas on Mondays.(It was the PIZZA sign that attracted us strangely enough) but we had no regrets!

Called in for breakfast and please we did. Both wife and I had the Pantry Breakfast, a full English plus, which came freshly cooked with local ingredients and it was excellent. Could of had a fair choose from the breakfast menu. Lunch menu commences midday and we will certainly return to try, although the Sunday Roast menu is on the list of must try. Friendly service, very clean interior and nice sun garden. Interesting shop and wine selection, glasses or bottles can be enjoyed with your breakfast or lunch. Set within a converted post office this charming cafe-come-restaurant is certainly worth a visit, or two.It was lovely to meet you yesterday and thank you for sharing you enjoyable experience with others. We look forward to welcoming Tg you back for a lunch very soon!
