Reviews on British food in Coatbridge, Scotland, United Kingdom. Coatbridge (Scots: Cotbrig or Coatbrig, Scottish Gaelic: Drochaid a' Chòta) is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, about 8.5 miles (13.7 km) east of Glasgow city centre, set in the central Lowlands. The town, with neighbouring Airdrie, is part of the Greater Glasgow urban area. While the earliest known settlement of the area dates back to the Stone Age era, the founding of the town can be traced to the 12th century, when a Royal Charter was granted to the monks of Newbattle Abbey by King Malcolm IV. Coatbridge, along with its neighbour Airdrie, forms the area known as the Monklands.

Half way through eating my meal I noticed a beetle on my plate, asked to speak to the manager but was told he wasn't in. Waitress said obviously you wont be charged for your meal. Thats the least I would expect.Left contact details but the manager contacted me. Really poor customer service. Won't be back.

The Vulcan in Coatbridge is a community pub with a friendly and welcoming staff. It places a heavy emphasis on ensuring customers and staff can socialise and work in a safe environment and this is borne out by the fact that it has achieved a silver award i
We went in and I honestly thought....too noisy! We sat down and I hoped my husband would agree we went elsewhere. We stayed and I ordered drinks and food via the Wetherspoons App.I got 3 for £10 small plates.Tempura King Prawns and dipSpicy chicken drumsticks 2 dipsNachos with sour cream, guacamole and dip.Absolutely superb!! And certainly not small plates! Great value. My husband Chicken Balmoral at £7.99 and he finished the lot.We stayed on for a couple of drinks.Don't be put off by the noise. We soon forgot about background noise as we tucked in to great food. The staff too are very pleasant. Hope to be back again when in the Coatbridge area.

Have not been for a while so decided to try again. The service and food were fine for the money although the Indian food arrived on the cool side. The battered fish was very good but the chips were not great. Starters were good. When we went to pay they took away our £40 and we waited, and waited for our £7 change. Eventually we had to go to the bar and they had put it in their tip jar. We suspect a bit of a con going on here by the staff member at the bar who said she did not know what she was thinking.Don't like this one bit.Dear ssenitThank you for your review. Firstly let me say from the outset that we as a business do not operate a "con" as you put it in relation to "tips"It would appear from discussing this with the staff member involved you left more money than the amount of the bill. I apologise that the staff member assumed that this was a gratuity and I have advised them, that they must be more diligent when dealing with bills in future. I understand however that as soon as this matter was brought to their attention it was addressed immediately and an apology was given.Overall it appears your food was not an issue and given you opted to try it again, one might assume you had no issue the first time?Thank you for choosing to dine with us and should you wish to discuss this matter further please feel free to contact me at [email protected] Harty

Small family run business , take out or sit in . Chip shop and Italian meals made and served fresh . Owned by brother and sister since January 2003 .
Prices are way too high for the portion size. Staff were efficient but unpersonable. Milanos is much betterSorry to hear you werenât impressed . Thank you for your review but I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that trip advisor is to be used to review a establishment on your experience and not to be used to advertise / endorse or recommend any other establishment . Small family run restaurant located in the hall of a 100 year+ old church building
I popped in here for lunch. The homemade soup was lovely and really filling. Nice coffee too. The lady serving me was really friendly and chatty which seemed fitting for a community cafe (there is also a large craft shop). A great place - I'd happily come back here for good food and friendly service.

Always happy to visit the Grange! Friendly staff and atmosphere who never hesitate to go the extra mile whenever they can required. The Grange offers a very decent, reasonably priced menu (Iâm relatively local but residents often cite this as a deciding factor over generic local hotel chains) which is complemented by an excellent range of beers...I can confirm that they do the best pint of St Mungos anywhere!Itâs also a great venue for an introduction to gin/whisky tasting due to their varied selection. All aspects considered I find it difficult to argue against a top rating.

Wifes 60th birthday - she chose the mint has we had been a couple of times before and enjoyed the service and the meal. This time ( Sat evening) was disappointing. Although the service and starters were fair and reasonably good I chose Chinese curry for the main course. Very disappointing. Quantity was poor and the curry sauce was more like a consomme soup - watery and certainly as far as curries go - tasteless and bland. Also disappointing to be advised that they only stocked 1 choice of low alcohol drink - which in this day and age is poor and certainly not my experience on other restaurants. Will unlikely be back as the meal was disappointing. Pity as the mont has been good in the past.

Fourth visit but certainly not my last. Unexpected "oasis" in this location. The decor was modern and inviting, staff were attentive and food delicious. From starter of Buffalo Wings (sauce was soo tastey) well we've been four times, and found the main courses from Blade of Beef to the House Salad beautifully presented and delicious, to, Sticky Toffee Pudding that was my favourite from a wide choice of deserts. Deliciously stuffed mmm. Just thinking is making me hungryReasonably priced too. Now where's my car keys - I'm feeling slightly peckish.
