Can never fault this place for great food, good service and a relaxing ambience. Every time myself or my wife visit here it's always wonderful. The setting is cosy and quiet but still only yards from the town centre. Staff always make a place and this is a perfect example with cheery polite folk who will help in any way if required with variations on the menu.Dear Lewis, Thank you so much for this fantastic review. We feel we have a lovely team and itâs great to be appreciated. Thanks for your continued support. We hope to see you again soon. Please let us know who you are, next time you call in, so we can say thank you in person.

Popped into this pub with my wife for breakfast mid-morning on a Thursday. The place was clean and tidy (the toilets were immaculate), with a lovely atmosphere, which you don't always get with this pub chain. We ordered the breakfasts and drinks through the app (if you haven't downloaded this yet you should, as it's a great way to do your order). The drinks were soon brought to the table by a friendly smiling waitress, followed very soon after by our breakfasts. They looked good, tasted great and were lovely and warm. Everything in fact was perfect, so kudos to the staff of this great pub. Thank you for a lovely breakfast.

Went for the first time for our wedding anniversary on August 8th. Was very impressed by the menu and ambience of the restaurant part of the pub. Sometimes, pubs try to do restaurant style food with matching prices, but the chef here can really pull it out of the bag. There were no disappointments! We had the goat's cheese & beetroot and tempura king prawns starters followed by the lamp rump & monkfish curry for mains. We shared a pineapple and banana pud. Every mouthful was utterly delicious, especially the monkfish. Service was excellent too: nothing was too much trouble. My parents went after I raved about it and they agreed with me! We are off for a return visit on Saturday with some friends. Ensure that you book as it does get busy.

Help Out Mill Restaurant is a family run traditional English restaurant set in the grounds of the old flour mill in Shackerstone, near Nuneaton.
It's so good to find a restaurant with 'proper' food not a painted plate or proessed food. The quality of the food was excellent and wherever possible locally produced and cooked simply and well. Good to have Greenfield's lamb and Congerstone blackberries. Pleasant room and service.

I was with a big party of walkers yesterday for our lunch time meal and ordered chicken burger with chips and ordered it with a cheese slice that when served they didn't put any cheese on it was gong to be charged £8.45 so then was charged £7.45 and I have just checked the online menu and it is priced at £4.15 so not only was I over charged I felt the size of the meal was not value for moneyWe sincerely apologise for our incorrect price being shown on our website it was an oversight on our part. However Liz being as it was an all male walking party therefore you werenât even at our venue, we feel your comments are very unjustified. Youâre husband Malc chose from the menu that said Chicken burger £7.45 add cheese for a £1. We apologised for not putting the cheese on and did not charge for it. When asked if his full chicken breast burger was ok he replied it was good as did all the group ( please read comments above from the organisers). He was given full opportunity to voice his own opinion at the time however we feel sorry that you felt the need to voice yours. I think in this day and age unless you eat at KFC you will not be getting a burger for £4.15. We apologise again and hope to see the guys back in the near future. Glad you all enjoyed it.

Couldnt fault the food or service on this visit except can only use debit card for £10 and over. This caused embarrassment as Im only a small eater and at their brilliant prices I fell short of the required amount. I appreciate it costs them to process but In the world today I dont expect to have to visit a cash machine before I can eat or drink in a pub. Like many I rarely use cash nowadays.

We returned to the Birch tree for an early evening pint and a meal last night (26/08/2019) This is our forth visit over the last few weeks and as always the food was excellent. The waiting staff and the manageress were prompt and helpful. I tried a Garlic Mushroom starter and the large Yorkshire pudding with all the fillings last night and it did not disappoint. I can also recommend the fish pie with Veg and chips. I would recommend a visit and try it for yourself. Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review we look forward to seeing you again warmest regards sara & Jamie

Serving the best fish & chips for the past 40 years and recently voted best fish & chip shop in Leicestershire by the Leicester Mercury.
The food is so fantastic that there is always a queue but it moves really quickly. Everything is cooked fresh and is piping hot. The portions are massive. Enjoy a picnic on the benches outside. The staff work together like a well oiled machine. As good as it gets!
