Chippenham is a large historic market town in northwest Wiltshire, England. It lies 20 miles east of Bristol, 86 miles west of London and 4 miles west of The Cotswolds AONB. The town was established on a crossing of the River Avon and some form of settlement is believed to have existed there since before Roman times. It was a royal vill, and probably a royal hunting lodge, under Alfred the Great. The town continued to grow when Great Western Railway arrived in 1841; it is now a major commuter town.

We have been established in the small market town of Malmesbury since 1986 and moved to our current location in the historic village of Sutton Benger in 2002. The building dates back to 1726 and was built by the grandfather of Joseph Fry, the founder of '
Sunday lunch to celebrate two birthdays; my wife and eldest daughter. Booking was straight forward and we got the table I asked for. After receiving our drinks order we were shown to the table in a well lit room. The seven orders were taken promptly. They ranged from Vegetarian, Pork Medallions, Moules with salmon, and Hake We all enjoyed the meals that were well presented and tasty. A few of us chose desserts; the creme brûlée proved to be a favourite for a couple of us.This was a special day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The service was excellent with Sam and Dean being most attentive. We will return to La Flambe soon.

Excellent! Called late in the day (4:30) for 8pm booking table for 2 and no problem. Lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Food cooked fresh to order so expecting a wait as quite busy but was out within a decent time. Had the pigeon to start and duck for main, my friend had the Brie to start and lamb shank (specials board) and all dishes were extremely nice. Well presented and cooked beautifully. How lovely to hear that you enjoyed your meals with us earlier this week - thank you for visiting and for posting a review which is much appreciated and does go a long way towards making all of the hard work worthwhile. Your compliments have been passed on to our wonderful team here and we hope to welcome you again before long.

I visited The Garden restaurant after a friend recommended that it was a wonderful little restaurant and I was not disappointed.I ordered the chicken Kiev with pan fried potatoes and salad. This was absolutely beautiful and so fresh. The chicken was delicious and so tender, the baby pan fried potatoes and salad were also super tasty. Portion size was absolutely spot on. Although I didn't have the space in to squeeze in a dessert the chocolate brownie sounded delicious. As I was dining on my own due to being down in Chippenham for work. The staff were very attentive and super friendly. Thank you Dom and Dotty, you made my visit wonderful and I will definitely be back when I'm next in Chippenham.

Had lunch with my wife here after a pleasant morning exploring the local countryside. We both opted for the cheese and stilton dumplings with chilli dip to start and the belly pork as mains. The cheese dumplings were delicious, but we both decided that the belly pork was a little disappointing. We were expecting some crunchy crackling, but it was actually very rubber like and soft. The accompanying veg was good, but the upgrade of dauphinoise potatoes from bubble and squeak was a tad expensive at £4. The local Wadworth 6x beer was nicely kept and the staff friendly with fast service. We both decided we'd eat here again when in the area though.

Visited the Foxham Inn for the second time recently - the first being some 2/3 years ago. It certainly did not disappoint. Although the menu was fairly restricted and unadventurous the contents were delicious. We started with all the 'Nibbles' - olives, home-made bread and whitebait. The alter was cooked to perfection and the bread very good. We then went straight to the main menu with pork belly, gnocchi and ratatouille and steak & kidney pie, chips and peas. Again cooked to perfection and very generous helpings. After that there was no room for desserts but we did have coffee with home made apricot biscuits which were again excellent. Really an excellent experience with friendly and helpful service. Even the taped music from the 50s and 60s fitted the bill very well!

Never been to The Westbrook before, but on a friend's recommendation we decided we would give it a go for our eldest daughter's 21st birthday lunch. We had a varied selection of food off the menu including, veggie, burger, roast, fish of the day. None of these meals disappointed in any way. All meals arrived within 15 minutes, no complaints there. Next onto dessert. The Toffee Apple crumble is a masterpiece, and the Black Forest dessert is huge. Living in Chippenham for almost 20 years I thought I had tried them all. But The Westbrook has it all. Attentive staff who were all well mannered and knew what they were serving. Superb food, with excellent portion sizes. We shall be back that is a promise

A country inn/restaurant serving a range of local beers and ciders along side a varied selection of wines. Sky and BT sports available in main bar areas ( not restaurant) Traditional pub grub served Tuesday-Saturday with roast dinners served on Sunday.
The Rising Sun went out of their way to make sure this important family event went well. They thought through every detail, were generous with their time and help, totally supportive. And the shepherds pie and vegetarian lasagne delicious and welcomed by all. Very many thanks to Lisa and the team

Bar/Restaurant with beautiful secluded beer garden in the centre of Chippenham serving lunches and evening meals. Award winning Sunday lunch
Meeting friends for lunch is always such a super occasion, adding outstanding food raises it to a whole new level. The Gladstone Arms is a perfect venue for such an event. We all had fabulous food, the sweet chilli chicken & bacon salad was fresh, tasty, varied and filling....excellent quality ingredients all cooked by a chef with a magical touch. Others loved their Halloumi salad and leek tart respectively, this was accompanied by a well priced, tasty bottle of rose. The desert menu was then produced, against better judgement the white chocolate & raspberry brioche bread & butter pudding and custard was chosen.....this huge delightful desert was out of this world....but it defeated me!! Luckily the wonderful owner, Leighton packaged the remains for me to enjoy all over again later on...I will certainly order this again and again. This lovely, well run, popular pub is a real âmust to visitâ if in the area..

Visited Chippenham today amongst other places and stumbled upon this café. The café is very quaint with lots of Irish memorabilia and slogans plastered over the walls, which we liked as we spent some time reading them. The lady who served us (I'm assuming the owner) was lovely, we placed our order and asked if there was a toilet on the premises, she told us that because it was a listed building, there wasn't, however there was a public toilet just round the back but we would need 20p to gain access. She then offered us the 20p, which we didn't accept as we had some 20p's. I thought this was a nice touch. I also had a nice chat with the owner about Ireland (I was there with the Army back in 1995) and she is very friendly. I ordered the Irish breakfast, which comes with Black and White pudding, bacon, sausage, beans, soda bread and I also added on a pancake type thingy, which for the life of me I can't remember but it began with a B. The breakfast was delicious. Overall, can't fault the place, good value, friendly, clean and fun. Will be going again when we are in the area.

Had an early (ish) dinner here - both of us had the chicken and ordered two sides to share - roast potatoes and Mac n cheese plus wo beers and two glasses of red wine. Approx £25 per head. The atmosphere was cosy and the staff went out of their way to find us a window table, even turning a four seater table into two for us. Our waitress was lovely and the fact that the restaurant was quite full at 8pm on a Wednesday night was a good indication of its popularity. Definitely would eat here again.......try it - you won'g be disappointed.
