The Blue Strawberry Bistrot, situated just off the A12 in the village of Hatfield Peverel with its mainline railway station, is ideally located for both the busy executive wishing to enjoy a quality meal without travelling far off the beaten track as well
We had lunch here yesterday, great atmosphere on arrival the staff were very friendly and chatty. You are made to feel welcome and relaxed. Sat and had drinks whilst choosing our meals. They have a great menu plenty of options. We were shown to our table and ordered, all of our food was prepared fresh and tasted delicious. Wine prices are very reasonable. The only issue we had was that they do try and cram in too many tables there is very little room the staff were shuffling between tables. They could do with putting a bigger gap between tables giving you a little more privacy. Parking is also limited so you may need to find a local street to park in. Other than that everything was great.

I used to come here quite a bit and had a couple of mediocre meals and didnât return for a while. My husband and I have this another shot back in May and we were both really impressed! We then returned in August with some family and again had another cracking meal. We then popped in Monday evening for a bite and it did not disappoint. My husband had a pie and mash and I had a shepherds pie. The food was lovely and great service from Hannah. We will be returning, thank you! Hello MrsA_P2901Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We are sorry to read that you felt your previous visits had been only mediocre. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to give you the dining experience we strive to achieve, we are thrilled to read that your more recent visits have been up to a much better standard. We have passed your kind comments on to Hannah, we look forward to seeing you upon your return. Many Thanks.Team Hare.

I was staying here, but I don't normally eat at hotels I stay at, however I fancied fish n chips which was on the menu..Service was very good and my food was promptly served. It looked great, and was a good size portion. The fish was perfect in a crispy batter, hand cut chunky chips were too notch, homemade tartare sauce and mushy peas topped it off. Fabulous food!Thank you for your kind review and for rewarding us with 5 stars. I am pleased you had a wonderful stay and found the rooms to be large and spacious. It's fantastic you dined in our Restaurant and found the food to be perfectly cooked and delicious. It's always wonderful to hear such glowing reports of the service our customers receive and I am glad you were not disappointed. I shall happily pass on your comments to the team.I hope when you are next in the area, you stay with us again.Jason BartellaManaging Director

Everything done to a high standard, small very well thought out menu their chef delivers well.Only negative was wished they had told us they wanted us to leave so they could close for the afternoon is our only disappointment as we had driven 1h45min to see friends from abroad.

We've lost count on the number of times we've eaten here! Bartella's is almost 60 miles from home and eating here is well worth the 120 miles round trip! We've had Easter, Christmas, New Year, Milestone Birthdays, and just ordinary lunches on the way home, yet the service is always excellent, as are the meals, and the camaraderie with Terry, Lorna, Mr Bartella, and the staff make our meals there all the more enjoyable. My only regret that now living in Suffolk and previously living in Chelmsford, we never knew of Bartellas until we moved to Suffolk! We'll be back - again and again and....................Thank you for your lovely review and for rewarding us with 5 stars. I am pleased you thoroughly enjoyed your dining experience with us at Bartellas and found our food and service to be excellent. It is always wonderful to hear our customers enjoy dining with us time and time again as we aim to deliver a high standard in our service, and I am glad you were not disappointed. I shall gladly pass on your comments to the team.We hope to see you again soon.Jason BartellaManaging Director

Situated in the charming hamlet of Chatham Green, The Windmill is a beautiful, real drinking pub, combining outstanding food with a selection of real ales, cocktails and an extensive wine list. Now in the care of Mick and Lydia Binnington, The Windmill ha
I ate for the first time at the Windmill, I will definitely return! The food is wonderful and the service is brilliant. I'm a vegetarian, there were a couple of options for the starter and one option for the main but boy was it a good option! Cheddar and leek tart with a hazelnut crumble, it was so cheesy and delicious! My family's said, the meat dishes were great too. Dessert was chocolate fondant, again, delicious and beautifully presented! The setting was lovely in the countryside and there was a lovely atmosphere. Everything was brilliant! Make sure you book as it can get very busy. I saw that the was a room for private dining which would probably be a lovely option for a birthday or other celebration.

Following in the success of sister restaurant Le Bouchon, the owners decided to open a sister venue in Rettendon Common on the outskirts of Chelmsford City, Le Benaix. A major restoration took place of the 16th Century heavily timbered period building whi
Le Benaix is such a beautiful venue with a gorgeous view, serving up the very best afternoon tea in the area! The staff are incredibly organised and have a lovely manner, regularly checking if more drinks etc are needed. They organised afternoon tea for twenty one of us this month and every sandwich and cake was beautifully presented and extremely fresh. They were extremely helpful and skilled in providing both a vegan tea and a sugar free version which enabled everyone in our party to attend the celebration. I enjoyed the vegan tea very much and it was greatly admired by other non-vegans who looked on with envy at the incredibly tasty treats. Thank you Le Benaix for organising such a lovely occasion filled with delicious food and outstanding customer service.
