We had lunch whilst shopping in Cheltenham. The restaurant is down some steps and seemed rather dark inside, not helped by the dark and tired decor. However the service was very good and food was delicious. Everything cooked well and very tasty, reasonably priced too.

What a charming recommendation! A lovely garden space with dominoes to play, and a phenomenal breakfast offering. The staff were wonderful and even though they were busy, managed to fit us in, managed our expectations on waiting times and then delivered everything promptly and with a smile.Loved it.

We are all about amazing food in a relaxed, informal setting. We let our food do the talking. We are for fine food, not fine dining !
I have had some very good meals here in the past, but this time the menu was limited and unambitious, there was no red wine available and the food itself was bland and unlovely.

Critically-acclaimed, small, independent restaurant specialising in sustainable British seafood and local Cotswold produce.
The food was incredible and beautifully presented, however, a starter-main-dessert combo left us feeling hungry. In hindsight we should have gone for the tasting menu (5 or 7 courses) rather than a la cà rte. Italian wine was great. But we went home and had to make ourselves sandwiches to fill up

An urban infused plant-based vegan-vegetarian licensed cafe and restaurant serving breakfast, lunch & dinner in the heart of Cheltenham Spa.
Three of us went for lunch on Saturday ..... arrived about 1.45pm and a couple of tables free. It's easy to find and is clearly signed from the walkway.Nice atmosphere, attentive and knowledgeable waiter and waitress; open view in to the kitchen.Nice menu - not too long so what they make is good - really good .... and everything cooked to order.Main courses were good sized portions, plenty of colour and textures and tastes in the dishes. Just left room for 2 puds which we shared. Nothing left on any of the plates when we had finished. We also had a nice smoothie each to start with and then it was help yourself to water. They do have alcoholic drinks but we were saving ourselves for a party later.A great place for great veggie food.

The Royal is a charming pub and restaurant with a really warm welcome. You'll discover The Royal in the very heart of Charlton Kings, Cheltenham, overlooking the beautiful St. Mary's Church. The pub boasts a cosy, yet modern bar area with open fires and c
The Royal is a decent pub with good food and ale. Something to be wary of are uncontrolled children. We are at the Royal on Friday night, in the garden, on a warm evening. Our visit was spoilt by kids running around us and parents oblivious to it and young pub staff who were never going to address it. We will go back, but be on the look out for small uncontrolled kids!Thank you very much for your constructive review. I presume you have visited the Royal more than once in the past. You will therefore be aware that we are a family friendly pub. We try and walk a very tight line between allowing children a bit of freedom to play and children being overly loud and intrusive. Obviously during your visit you felt that it was the latter. I would like to apologise for this and the apparent lack of staff addressing the problem. We do patrol the garden as often as possible but sometimes the children do run around unexpectedly. We will continue to welcome families but you are right in saying that some parents need more reminding than others regarding their children's behaviour. Thanks again and I am glad to will continue to frequent the Royal.Kind regards,Mike Huysinga

Traditional public house with pretty rear garden. Food served lunchtimes and evenings all freshly prepared on the premises. Nothing frozen nothing fried ( except the chips on steak nights!) . Fresh Stone baked pizzas and BBQ on warm dry evenings.
What a treat! Mediterranean style Lamb or Chicken, Steaks, Halloumi. We plumped for the Lamb and it was big, baby new roast potatoes and help yourself salad bar. Kinda think my eyes were bigger than my belly as it was a struggle to finish. But worry not, the lovely staff gave us a container to take the rest home. Verdict - delighted!
