I was in a party of 29 people on Saturday evening. The food and service was first class. Everyone was served within a short space of time and all the food was piping hot and very good. I have the chicken with Brie and it was the best chicken I had had for a long time. Couldn't fault it in any way and excellent value for money.

Read the reviews on here and saw good for gluten free. Went and tried and not disappointed. They have a really good menu and food is served all day. There is a lot for people who are gluten free also. The food is good quality, piping hot and very tasty. Nice portions. There were four of us myself, my husband, my daughter and my dad. Everyone enjoyed their food. We all have different tastes as we are all different ages but the menu caters for everyone. My daughter had the nachos, my husband had the mixed grill which is huge but good value. I had the belly pork it was lovely and my dad had the steak pie. Would recommend and would come again. Only one negative comment please, please wipe that door where you get the ice from it is disgusting. It was the first sight that greeted me and it put me off. The thought of you touching that every time you handle the glasses it must be swarming with bacteria. A wet cloth some anti bacterial spray or an antibacterial wipe will do wonders. It's my only negative comment. Everything else superb.Thank you for your kind 5* review. We're delighted that you have enjoyed your meals with us, especially our gluten free options. With regards to your comments on our cellar door: We thank you for your concern. We do pride ourselves on our hygiene and are continuously awarded a rating of 5 by the EHA, which is the highest rating. We do clean the doors but that particular door is really old, as are some of the stains on it. It is our intention to eventually remove it but it is a bit low down on a very long list of priorities. It will get removed eventually though.

The Red Lion is a 16th century pub nestled in the picturesque village of Bicker. Steeped in history take a step back in time to one of Lincolnshire's most traditional and snuggest of pubs. Complete with real ales, fine food, low beams and open fires. Our
Iâve been lucky enough to have been 3 times since they reopened. The food & service is excellent. It is the best Sunday roast I have had in a restaurant. If I was going to be super critical I would say the roast potatoes could be a bit better but that will not stop me returning because everything else was perfect. I have no idea what they put in the red cabbage but it was amazing & will go for extra portions of that next time. Whenever I have friends stay Red Lion will be my first choice for eating out. Dear London 1983Thank you so much for your lovely review and supporting us.We hope to see you again soon.

The family, complete with our 18 month old granddaughter, met at this traditional country pub one Saturday for lunch. The place did come recommended by friends and I have to say we were not disappointed. There was an extensive menu of pub food and tasty burgers. Of particular note was the special feature of being able to cook your own food (steaks, tuna and swordfish) at the table on a slab of piping hot Lava Rock. A couple of us chose this option taking care to keep our granddaughterâs little fingers away from the hot rock. In line with the generous main courses, the starters and puddings were also excellent. The food was supplemented by a very good selection of draught beers and lagers. With seating inside and out and a decent sized car park, the waterside location adds to the pleasant disposition of this very nice English pub. Overall, we found the food very tasty and served by friendly staff, the prices were reasonable and so we would have no hesitation in eating here again.

Tucked away in the village of Bicker Bar near Boston in Lincolnshire, the Supreme Inns Haven Restaurant is part of the Supreme Inn Hotel Boston which is a luxurious retreat with three AA rosettes to its name. A member of the Gourmet Society and Tastes of
Was looking forward to returning, not been for several months. Place was busy with good atmosphere. The service was very good as before but the food was a let down. My steak was quite tough for a rib eye and the chips were not hand cooked in our opinion. Small dry chunky roast potatoes sadly. My husband had the steak pie which lacked a good meat filling and was just basically gravy inside with again poor chips . Overall really disappointed , also a huge bunch of roasted tomatoes filling the plate did not impress....such a waste .

Classic Cottage style restaurant service very good British cuisine with locally sourced products from surrounding farms and butchers.
My fingers were enjoying the sensory feel of a starched table cloth and napkin; this along with the table set with fresh flowers had immediately set the tone of what was to be an intimate birthday lunch for my wife.We had been met at the door with a smile that was genuine and offered advice on parking our car. It is such a pleasure to be met by someone that acknowledges one exists rather than being left to wait at a vacant lectern, or to wander aimlessly toward and empty table and hope that staff will notice. The Kirton cottage is indeed both cottagey and intimate, the food is cooked to order, thus there is an inevitable pause, but the reward is the pleasure of hot food served to the table cooked to ones taste. To me this is what a restaurant should be like. I hate the âinstantâ stuff that has been lying, withering on a plate, waiting for the microwave to be become free so it can be reheated.I often pay £300 for a plane ticket and then sit for three hours at Heathrow waiting, in comparison a one hour wait at a hospital is not an issue, and thus a 20 minute interlude to chat with my wife , in comfort, knowing our palates are about to experience a delight, is actually pleasurable.Oh, and the food is worth the wait, think mango and brie parcels, with a fresh salad, or freshly cooked lime and chilli king prawns with a sauce that adds spice to each mouthful, and that is just the starters. In truth, good basic fresh ingredients, cooked to order and served immediately to table is the basic recipe for any successful restaurant, but it oft surprises that this simple formula is ignored; we need the standards of the Kirton cottage restaurant, to remind us.In this oasis is one is unlikely to meet fellow diners wearing shorts, a place where the expression âgood eveningâ replaces the âow yer doin?â were food is served on plates rather than pieces of wood or slates. It is impossible to imagine silly little wire baskets filled with cold chips appearing on the table, and it is more likely that you would bump into Nicholas Parsons exiting a pole dancing club, than to find a sachet within the premises. This is how restaurants used to be, and indeed how they should be.Thank you Mr T for your wonderful review, it was great to meet you and Mrs T (Happy Belated Birthday). Glad you both enjoyed the food and hospitality here at Cottage

Just had a lovely big lunch at Westwoodâs but disappointed with having to wait 45 minutes for a club sandwich and a door stop sandwich. Substantial sandwiches and delicious but small portion of chips for price as extra. Wonderful attentive waitress, couldnât fault her.
