Reviews on British food in Boscastle, England, United Kingdom. Boscastle (Cornish: Kastel Boterel) is a village and fishing port on the north coast of Cornwall, England, UK, in the civil parish of Forrabury and Minster (where the 2011 Census population was included) . It is 14 miles (23 km) south of Bude and 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Tintagel. The harbour is a natural inlet protected by two stone harbour walls built in 1584 by Sir Richard Grenville and is the only significant harbour for 20 miles (32 km) along the coast. The village extends up the valleys of the River Valency and River Jordan. Heavy rainfall on 16 August 2004 caused extensive damage to the village.

Not very big, so can get quite busy, but the food is lovely and the staff are delightful. The crab sandwich seemed pricey, but was absolutely delicious and worth every penny.

3 of popped in on the off chance that we could grab breakfast before the 7 hour journey home, it was 9.45, the lady on reception said that although breakfast was served till 10 the kitchen department may have already set up for lunch as all the pre booked breakfasts had been eaten, after a couple of phone calls she said it was fine and we followed her upstairs to the dining room, we all ordered the full Cornish breakfast, with cereal, fruit all available, the breakfast was very nice and at £10 not too bad a price, thank you to the lady on reception who was determined to sort our breakfast out, I didn't need to eat until nearly 10 hours later

We live live locally and have tried every eatery in the area. How we had missed this one until today I don't know - because, what a find! The food is absolutely delicious, fresh and home made, and the staff are all absolutely charming. I had a really interesting salad with huge, juicy, crevettes and turmeric bread. I honestly can't remember the last time we had such a delicious lunch, in such a nice atmosphere, with such warm and friendly service but it won't be the last time, because we'll be regulars!

Stopped here during our walk to Tintagel for a much needed lunch. Really nice staff and a lovely little setting outside. Food was excellent; had the fish finger sandwich with the biggest fish fingers I’ve ever seen and the cream teas are second to none! Thankyou Bridge house!

My wife and I had a fish meal ( plaice fillet) with chips, salad and coleslaw. Plate really was not big enough but we thoroughly enjoyed it with a pleasant tasting wine.Reasonable prices although the salad was dear...3 pounds for a small portion.Very good service and nice surroundings. You can have takeaway or sit for a little extra.

Spent the day hiking around the local area and stopped at this place to re-fuel at lunchtime. It was clean and tidy, with a welcoming feel to it. I thought the prices were very good especially for an establishment in a tourist destination. Really good choice on the menu too. I struggled to make up my mind but plumped for the seafood burger and wasn’t disappointed. It was very tasty and the portion size was just right. The service was friendly and well timed throughout. I would definitely re visit the Riverside if in the area again and happily recommend.

Having visited earlier this year when in Boscastle with friends we loved this pub. This time we took a drive up while staying near St Austell with family. We booked a table to see the Boscastle Buoys and all had a great time. Food was brilliant and I highly recommend the ribs. Great choice of drinks with Ales served from the casks. Lovely old pub full of atmosphere.

We loved this pretty little tearoom, and visited twice while staying in Boscastle. It is beautifully positioned near the harbour mouth, next to the Youth Hostel - which makes it a great place to sit outside with lunch and do a spot of people-watching. This position also made it sadly vulnerable in the flood of 2004, when it was destroyed by the huge rush of water. The rebuilding has been flawless, though, keeping the building exactly as it was, complete with the charming dipped roofline.Food and service are good, we had quiche and a ploughman's lunch, and on another day a pasty. All enjoyed by us. Highly recommended.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. We had both meat eaters and vegetarians in the party and both were well catered for. The nut roast was the best we've tasted, and the desserts were far too tempting! Definitely book because it is popular. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the views gorgeous. If the weather is good there are beautiful walks straight from the farm shop. Highly recommend.Good afternoonThank you for your wonderful review, we really appreciate hearing customers views. I will pass your compliments to the staff.I hope we will see you again.
