Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn is the oldest public house in Banbury. Situated halfway down Parsons Street, in the town centre no visit to Banbury is complete without a visit to Ye Olde Reine Deer. A Hook Norton Brewery pub ensures the offering of mainstay Hooky
So glad that I finally was able to enjoy this pub. Every time I walked in it was packed. I was so sad yesterday that I arrived just as they sold out of their Sunday Roast. Excellent beer and great food. Very friendly and helpful staff all around. I would have to say that this is hands down the best pub in Banbury. I look forward to coming back again.

A traditional country pub, in a idyllic surrounding. Set in the peaceful village of Chacombe, the George and Dragon is only 1 mile from junction 11 of the M40. The George and dragon is the perfect place for all occasions, whether it be for entertaining co
So I have been drinking in the George for 10 years and have not had any problems but tonight after having a couple of pints I went to pay for drinks with a 50 and they refused the money now call me old school but when they know you does that not seem strange after all last time I checked you can get 50âs from a bank I wonder if I would have gone in there with my family and spent £200 on food would they refuse the money?Dear Cruiser40065,I am sorry to read about your experience the other day and feel it necessary to explain a few things which hopefully will see you drinking here again soon,Firstly, please do not think the £50 note refusal was in any way a reflection on you personally, we have been advised by our bank to refuse them for the time being as there a lot of counterfeit ones around and our marker pen to check them is not that reliable.Secondly, having spoken to the employee who served you he has advised me that he did not convey this reason, only that we were not accepting them. That said I can understand your frustration with the situation so please accept my apologies for situation he is new to our team and we are still training him.It is a shame I was not around on the night in question as I believe this matter could have been handled differently and you and your friend would have been able to enjoy a few more Guinness's that night

Traditional Old English Pub, serving excellent food and well kept quality real ales. Also known for its themed nights and varied events.
The previous owners had been there for 14 years and had an excellent reputation The new owners have carried on that excellent reputation and have kept all the original staff. The ambiance is good, the food and beer are good and the staff are friendly and as far as the landlord is concerned always laughing. Not the cheapest pub around but you only get what you pay for and as already stated the chef produces some excellent foodBryan T,Thank you for your review. I'm very pleased to hear that the previous excellent standards have been upheld coming from a previously regular customer. Although we approached it from the angle of running an Old English Country Pub, rather than a restaurant/bistro, we were determined to maintain the previous high standards and improve on them where we felt we could. From your comments, I feel that we have succeeded and I thank you very much.Kind Regards

The Kitchen is an entirely independent restaurant and proud of it. We only select, prepare and serve you the absolute best food and drink we can source; mainly from local food heroes; much from our own Kitchen garden. Everything is freshly prepared here,
Myself and husband were staying in the beautiful Finch Cottage, (which is ideally located next door to this pub and available for holiday lets) and we decided to eat here on a Friday evening. The pub has a wonderful sunny garden, perfect areas for eating in the sun or the shade of you prefer. On arrival into the pub we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff, we hadnât pre booked a table but that was no problem at all for the staff. We placed an order for food and drink and took our drinks outside whilst waiting for our food. My husband ordered the king prawn curry and I ordered the Aberdeenshire steak burger. We didnât have long to wait for our food and it was absolutely truly scrumptious! On the Saturday evening we arranged to meet some family in The Kitchen, we felt that the food and staff were that great on the Friday we wanted to go again on the Saturday. This time we had booked a table and sat inside for our meal. Really lovely seating areas, which were very cosy and comfortable. My husband had the King Prawn curry again as he had enjoyed it that much the first night! So if you are looking for a delightful place to eat and or drink we cannot recommend The Kitchen enough. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. There are plenty of places for walks/drives near by to discover the stunning Cotswolds. And if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay Finch Cottage is right next door, so a quick hop skip and a jump and you are there.Thank you so much for your simply wonderful review about The Kitchen. I have passed on your feedback to the team and they are thrilled. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Finch Cottage and your visit to our restaurant. We hope to see you again.Best wishes,Jo

A lovely country pub/restaurant with large gardens on the outskirts of South Newington village. Midway between Banbury and Chipping Norton. Well placed for country walks and visiting the Medieval Church. Serves local ales and home-cooked meals.
A Friday night and there was no atmosphere! We had starters but they varied considerably in size. Don't bother with the king prawns, quite tasteless and where was the homemade bread?! The mains were tasty but again portion size was small. The sticky toffee pudding was clearly not homemade and lacked sauce. Overall a very expensive meal.

Located in a village near Banbury, this is a quaint, traditional and authentic country pub. We had just landed at Birmingham International and were fortunate to pick this place for lunch on our drive to Banbury. Friendly servers and great food. Really enjoyed the Fish and Chips.

Reg's Cafe offer a wide range of hot and cold food, snacks and drinks to eat in or take away. Ranging from all day breakfasts, main meals, jacket potatoes, baguettes, pastries and cakes, freshly ground coffee and tea. Great value for money and a warm frie
Am here for breakfast. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is good and freshly cooked but the tables are sticky and grubby and the placemats havenât had a wipe in who knows how long..... there are crumbs and bits of food on the tables and the floor is dirty. I couldnât relax at all. This is probably OK for your average trucker but itâs a shame itâs not a notch above as I think theyâd get more trade as simply a good breakfast place in Banbury, if they spent more time keeping it clean.Thank you for your review. I am pleased to hear our staff were friendly and efficient and you were happy with your food. I was disappointed to hear you thought the cafe was grubby as our customers normally mention how clean it is and we pride ourselves on a five star hygiene rating, which we have maintained for seven years since we opened. When I read your review I made sure all the tables were scrubbed and the table mats were cleaned. I did notice two mats which were greying in colour, I wondered if this is what you had seen? It turned out to be newspaper print from our complementary newspapers. We could tell it was this as one of the mats had the crossword vaguely imprinted on it! We replaced these mats as soon as we found the problem. We do mop the floor daily, but it is at the end of the day when we close. We unfortunately cannot mop during the day as it would be slippy and don't want to have a slip hazard on our hands. We do welcome everyone into our cafe including builders and workers with their boots on and unfortunately this can sometimes go against us.I have spoken to our staff in relation to your review and I hope you will visit us again and find you have a better experience.

Once again visited the Pie place, which is heaving mid week. Booking essential. We had eaten around the corner at the Red Lion which was very disappointing. Had an excellent desert, with friendly service and a great atmosphere. Love this place and can highly recommend. All the locals come here!! Excellent.

A beautiful Stone Village Free house & Restaurant in the heart of Kings Sutton village. The White Horse sits on the village green opposite St Peter and St Paul Church. Serving lunch and dinner Tuesday to Friday and food all day Saturday until 9pm and Sund
Booked as our last meal while on our canal boat holiday. We walked across the fields (which took about an hour) to the lovely village of Kings Sutton. We were a family of 10, but considering how busy the restaurant was, the service was swift. We all ate from the 3 course Sunday lunch menu. Starters were good - a special mention to the special scotch egg. All enjoyed the various roasts, but again, a special mention goes to the slow cooked rump of beef - which melted in the mouth. Everyone enjoyed the puddings, but I was disappointment with my Creme Brulee which was very very runny, but the caramel was gorgeous and crispy on top. Great restaurant with tasty food and a good atmosphereHelloThank you for joining us for Sunday Lunch and for your kind comments regarding the staff and food. Glad to read we were a worth while final stop on your canal holiday. We will keep a close eye on the crème brulee and make sure they are up to standard in the future.Thank you once again and hope to see you soon.Hendrik and Julie
