Ruby's is a family Bar and Restaurant offering a varied menu. We have daily specials and serve breakfast at weekends.
Rubyâs has come on leaps and bounds recently. Just outside the town centre of Larne, there is plenty of parking. They are adding more and more deals during the week and they are great value. They now have a âBeat the Clockâ menu and a BOGOF offer from 12pm to 5pm. Food is great and good quality. Only improvement I would suggest is the entrance to the bar passes the toilets and there is a slight odour. But in the bar and restaurant area everything is CLEAN and tidy and thatâs what matters most. Well done Rubyâs you are doing well!

Located: Larne Leisure Centre. A warm welcome awaits you at the Prom Café where our delicious food and drinks can be enjoyed overlooking a beautiful sea view.
Ideal choice. Fantastic food with sea views of the promenade, passing ferry and sea. Plenty of options for breakfast, both traditional and modern. There was everything from a sticky bun, avocado, bacon and sourdough and eggs benedict to an Ulster fry and porridge and berries. Great coffee and hot chocolate too. From a previous visit I recall the lasagne and the chips as being outstanding.
A group of twelve people from our Walking Group enjoyed a very enjoyable walk in Carnfunnock Country Park last week. The park near Larne on the Antrim Coast Road covers 191 hectares of mixed woodland, colourful gardens, walking trails and the Parklands Cafe. This was the perfect end to our walk and the Catering Manager and his excellent staff provided us with an extensive menu choice of home made scones, salads, sandwiches or a fried breakfast, beautifully cooked and served with tea/coffee. They also cater for Children with the option to add additional items like "99" ice creams or "Slushie" drinks for groups. Within the park they can provide catering at the various purpose built BBQ areas, ideal for a Corporate Day out.The staff all make you feel welcome and it is their goal to ensure that everyone has a fun day in the park and we would strongly recommend that you pay them a visit.
The new chef at Cairndhu has transformed the restaurant and both the service and food are excellent. Particularly good is the fish and chips. Though I am not usually a curry eater both the prawn curry and the chicken curry are very tasty, and their golfer's fry is spot on. Nice to see great views and nice surroundings being matched by the food.It is particularly good value compared to non golf club food.

Went last friday night with my wife. It has been about 6/7 years since our last visit, we used to visit it quite regulary especially for their christmas dinner which was always excellent. Only really stopped because of the drive from home, either it was foggy, or ice or snow etc and the roads could be quite bad, also parking wasn't (isn't) great. If the restaurant is busy then the smallish car park fills up quickly.Rang Friday afternoon to see if we could get a table for that evening at eight. One of the owners took the call (the lady) tried to get us to change to 7:30 - settled on 7:45. Now when we arrived there was really no need to try and get us to change or time, it was busy but not packed in fact we were the last to arrive for dinner (7:45 on a Friday night). Obivioulsy wanting us to arrive at 7:30 was for the convienence of Lynden Heights. Arrived and no welcome just as well we had been their before so we made our own way into the small bar area and found ourselves a seat. The lady owner was infact sitting at a table talking to other I assume regular guests when she was finished she got up and disappeared without a word to us.The husband then appeared - again didn't ask for our booking but produced menus and asked if we wanted a drink from the bar. Not a big selection of bottled beer (mine in fact was quite warm) but a decent selection of wine. The bar/waiting area hasn't changed since we first starting going over 20 years ago - still the same carpet, painted walls, bar etc, in fact the toliets haven't changed either in years still the same wall paper etc.Shown into the dinning room/conservatory this again hasn't changed since it was built, same carpet, curtains, pink table cloths, plastic flowers on the tables. However the food choice and value and quality are excellent. We opted for the 3 course set menu for £16 which included tea or coffee. All courses were excellent, fresh and well cooked. This could be a really excellent spot if only they spent a little money updated the decor etc and also spent a little bit of money on traing their staff and the owners on customer service.Would I reutrn - maybe in another 6-7 years because you just don't go out for the food but the overall experience you are looking for a wow factor which overall you just don't get. Does food very well for the more mature dinner who is looking for the traditional with a twist.

Today we thought we would have lunch at the Silver Lounge, many years ago it was a favourite place to eat. But we got lazy and had not gone that far along the street lately but today we were really pleased that we did. We ordered a fry and soup and a sandwich with tea. They do a great fry there and the vegetable broth and freshly made chicken sandwich really hit the spot. From memory they were always well known for a great fry and fish and chips. The service was very good and staff were pleasant and friendly. Will be going back soon.

Excellent food, great choice, super service. I enjoyed a salad starter and then chicken and my husband had soup and steak. Dear Helen R,Thank you for your review and for choosing the Garden Restaurant to dine in.I am delighted to see you gave us a perfect rating and you found the food to be excellent with a variety of dishes to choose from and the service to be super. This is one of the things we strive for on a daily basis.I hope to welcome you both back to the hotel in the near future whether it be for dinner or an overnight stay. Please do not be a stranger to the Castle.Warmest Regards,Kathryn Glass,Front Office & Accounts Manager.

We had dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was in a busy, fully booked dining room with a sea view; breakfast was served in a lonely, dark back room whereas sea view tables were empty - we were the only overnight guests.

Mattieâs Meeting House is a local hang out just a short stroll up the road from Ballycairn House. We were lucky to get a reservation, as it was almost fully booked. We spent an unforgettable evening at the warm, traditional country pub. My husband and I quenched our thirst after a long day of adventuring with pints of Guinness and Magners, enjoyed Mattieâs mouthwatering Guinness Pie, and sang along with the talented local musicians who played the guitar, banjo, fiddle, recorder, and piccolo and accepted requests all evening. They were extremely friendly to our children who stayed up far after their bedtime enjoying the live music. It was so amazing that we returned the following night, and by that time we were old friends!
