We only live locally and had driven past many times and kept saying must visit.Website is rubbish, something to do with bandwidth problems?? Managed to get past faulty phone line as well and spoke to Sarah. Very very helpful re gluten free options for one of our party. Four of us booked for a Wednesday night meal, absolutely brilliant service and meal, obviously freshly cooked food not the microwave in a bag stuff.Judging by number of diners in that evening very popular place, we will be back!Thank you so much for this lovely review and also thank you for persevering! It took BT nearly a week to fix our phone line but fixed they are and our new website is up and running with sample menus and contact details. Iâm pleased you enjoyed your food and the service and I will pass your comments on to Sarah. We look forward to your next visit.

I went with 3 friends and our little ones. The staff were so helpful with putting tables together, getting high chairs and moving chairs. The food was good and the homemade cakes were amazing. The weather wasn't good, and so we spent a few hours in here, but the staff didn't mind at all. Definitely worth a visit, and make sure you don't leave without having some cake.

Opened 21st December 2012 after significant refurbishment The Bell in Stoke Mandeville now offers a spacious yet cosy environment with more than a nod to the traditions of the Great British pub. With over ten years experience in some of the best dining es
We had eaten here before a few years ago and found the food good and service very acceptable but the menu was a bit limited and didnât change very often so having exhausted all the options we stopped going. This visit was our first after a change of ownership or management (no sure which). Opening hours for food were quite limited as we visited on a Sunday and the kitchen closed at 1700 and there was nothing else on offer so as we wanted to try it we came back the following day. During the week days the kitchen opened at 1800 until 2100. Very limited menu and nothing outstanding on offer. We had sausage and mash with vegetables and scampi chips and peas. The scampi and chips were obviously cooked from frozen and the scampi was over cooked. The sausages were very nice but at nearly £13 for each meal it was overpriced and does not compare well with other local pubs / restaurants. Donât think we will visit again for a while.

Located on the outskirts of Aylesbury town centre, the Broad Leys pub and restaurant offers you a haven from the hustle and bustle of busy town life or hectic office days. Dating back over 300 years the building has been renovated to a high standard to pr
Family stayed with us and we were made a last minute decision to go out for dinner. The broad Leys were so accommodating and helpful. Great staff and a really lovely restaurant. Menu was full of great choice. We all enjoyed our meals so much. Bang bang chicken was Delish!

While quiche & salad didnt sound too exciting, it was THE yummiest, cheesiest thickest quiche ever Loses a point for forgetting to bring us a cake (gave up on it) and (if I'm wrong here, I totally apologize) asking if I wanted coffee in the chai latte (isnt that tea??) But do try the quiche!!

This restaurant in the Five Arrows hotel has strong connections with the Rothschild family and their hospitality and wine. The walls are decorated with past Mouton Rothschild labels and some of the Rothschild wine is available. If you want a proper lunch beautifully prepared then this is the place to experience it. We began with a delicate cheese tart followed by duck so tender it melted in your mouth. I tried the steak pie this is a proper pie not one with the lid stuck on in a dish but a proper pie full of deliciously tender meat and lovely pastry accompanied by Autumn vegetables and a jug of gravy. For the deserts a tart with mango sorbet and a selection of ice cream. Donât be put off by the expensive wine list. Take time to explore it we had a glass of the house champagne by Gustavo Roche it was excellent followed by a glass of chateau Parye Labade one of the Rothschild wines dispensed by the individual sampling method which allows the remaining wine not to be disturbedIf you want a light snack lunch this available but rather misses the point of visiting this establishment. We have visited it over the years and has always been excellent.Ivory S Thank you so much for your delightful review Ivory. We're so happy that you enjoyed yourself and look forward to welcoming you back on many more visits in the future.

Having made a reservation some three weeks before, we were astonished to be greeted upon arrival with blank looks. However, the reaction of the staff in attendance clearly indicated that lost reservations are not uncommon. Luckily, we nevertheless got a table on the terrace. The starters arrived swiftly, but everything slowed down thereafter. Even going to the bar ourselves to order drinks took time, with only one girl actually tending the bar and another three staff members looking busy while not performing anything obviously useful. When we ordered desserts we were informed that some of the ice-cream choices were unavailable as there were problems with the freezer. The ice-cream desserts that we did order came without the advertised brandy baskets. When we pointed this out we were told that the chef had forgotten to put in an order for them (as would have been known at the beginning of the day). This used to be a lovely pub.

In our bar and restaurant we serve a varied menu of delicious home cooked traditional Fayre. All our food is prepared using fresh and locally sourced, high quality produce. On a Sunday enjoy our traditional Sunday Roast served from 12 noon until 4pm. In o
Stayed for 2 nights (writing this on my last night, sat still hungry in my room!)First night meal was good actually, though service was a bit haphazard given I was one of only about 4 people in the place. Tonight different story, place was packed (turns out itâs quiz night), so even worse service, followed by the absolute worst steak Iâve ever been served (hint: either buy better quality or invest in steak knives because theyâre inedible and impossible to cut otherwise), joined with the least peppercorny peppercorn sauce (at least if the sauce was good it would have masked the crap steak a bit). It was also just this side of Luke warm. Given the waitress was also the barmaid I can appreciate she was struggling. Impossible to complain as I never saw her back at the table so after 30 mins just left the whole lot congealing on the plate while I waited patiently at the bar for another 20 mins being ignored just to pay for the crappy food I didnât eat. As you can tell, Iâm grumpy when Iâm hungry. Would be good if they just explained that a quiz was due, especially when the quiz master said that the quiz would have to be delayed as âapparently people are still eatingâ like we were bloody pariahs or something. Unimpressed.Thank you for taking the time to share your views with us.I am sorry you did not enjoy your dining experience with us. We were unusually very busy for our quiz night and therefor our bar team were extremely busy.We have had lots of glowing comments about our food including our steaks so I am disappointed that you did not enjoy yours. I am sorry that the waitress was not able to check on your meal once you had been served, due to how busy we were. Had you have mentioned your disappointment to the bar man when paying, we would most certainly have offered to cook you another steak and bring it to your room or taken it off your bill.We value all comments both good and not so good so thank you once again for taking the time to review us.Kind regardsTracy BalenOwner
