After a few inconsistent experiences after the re-opening we were at the Jack Russell for Sunday lunch over each of the past two weekends and it was absolutely great both times. High quality, generous portions, good service - I felt a 5 star review was in order to make sure they keep it going! It's always easy to cut corners and there was no sense of that at all. Only request would be a crumble or pie on the pudding menu!

Under New Management as of the 15th Dec 2018. Lovely village pub in Grateley. Dog friendly. Childrens Play Area. Cosy log burner
Met family here for Sunday Roast as advertised on the website. No roast was offered or available, the menu was ok but the waitress realed of many items that were off the menu.We asked what the vegetarian option was and was told it was pasta, this tells me that the person cooking has a lack of flair in the kitchen. We did all order but when it was served we soon realised there was a lack of anything fresh and most was either from a tin or packet. All in all not a good dining experience and one that will not be repeated.

Our Weyhill store is conveniently located just off the A303 at the Thruxton Village Only turn-off. The store is situated just outside the market town of Andover, Hampshire, close to the Wiltshire border. Rosebourne Weyhill opened in October 2016 and quick
My girlfriends thought we'd try lunch here and we are so glad we did......I ordered coronation chicken sandwich which came with salad, coleslaw and chips and it was delicious. The service was amazing it arrived within 5 minutes.Desert, now what a treat. I ordered pavlova, the presentation was wonderful and it tasted as good as it looked! Our waitress was lovely and helpful and I would have given 5stars if it wasn't for the rude waiter whom brought over our takeaway cakes......I didn't get his name otherwise I would have definately reported him!!!Hi AprilForbes. Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your recent visit to our store. However, weâre very sorry to hear you were disappointed with one of our waiting team. We will feed this back to the team.

It was Good Friday and we were traveling from Andover to Newbury so decided to stop for a drink and a light lunch. We stopped at a pub, which will remain nameless (in Hurstbourne Tarrant) and asked if they did sandwiches which they said they didnât in a rather off handed way. So as they didnât seem too friendly we left. Then we found The Crown at Upton. To be fair they also didnât have sandwiches on the menu but the Owner (?) said she would make me one; what a difference. We sat in the garden and enjoyed the day and food. Keep up the positive work.

Sit you in another room and insist on purchasing extra drinks while booking all you can eat Sunday lunch. Shame! Do not go back.

At the heart of charming Amport village, set alongside chocolate box cottages, beautiful country gardens and rolling hills, is The Hawk Inn. Itâs a great place for a fabulous dinner from our modern British menu or a refreshing drink on our sandstone terra
First visit - stopped for a light lunch. Lovely old pub, staff very friendly and efficient. Food selection excellent and well presented and very good. Lots of nice touches around the pub a sign of caring professional owners. You can stay overnight too. Lovely setting in pretty village.

Nestled in the beautiful village of Hurstbourne Tarrant, The George and Dragon has been a coaching inn since the 16th century. With flagstone flooring, original wood beams, a large oak bar and roaring wood burners the pub provides a warm and cosy ambience
My Wife, my daughter and I wanted to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary so, on the spur of the moment, and based on a friend's recommendation, we thought we'd try this well established hostelry. We found the decor very presentable and very clean. The staff that attended us, 2 young women, were very attentive, professional and polite. The menu appeared unfussy, with the usual fayre for kids. I chose Halibut and my wife a burger. When our meals arrived I was very underwhelmed. The portion of fish sitting on top of some crushed potato, was very small. The vegetables and salad were however perfectly cook and presented. I am a big fish lover, so I was really disappointed. The waitress had said, of my Wife's burger order, that it would be served pink unless she wanted it cooked through. My Wife asked for it to be cooked through. It is generally accepted that mince should be cooked thoroughly not left pink. My wife's burger arrived and it was nonetheless really quite pink inside. When asked if all was ok, my wife declined to have it cooked again and infact left half of it on the plate. Apart from anything else, it would have disrupted the meal, as both my daughter's and my food would have either had to have been be taken away or left to us to finish, at which point my Wife would have been eating alone. One of those classic dilemmas. My daughter's food was fine and well presented. The rest of the meal was very nice and by and large we enjoyed it. We were presented with a delicately decorated plate of little pieces of fudge with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. A nice touch. Just our mains let the side down. When I went to pay the bill I did expect a some reaction from the staff about the food, but to be frank the young lady behind the bar was matter of fact and said nothing, presented me with the bill and processed it without further conversation. In summary, excellent service main courses let the side down.Would we eat there again, I think not.

The vegetarian roast dinner is honestly awful. Probably the worst roast Iâve had out. The ânut roastâ isnât a nut roast but blended veg and spices which doesnât go with a roast dinner at all! Really basic veg and a slab of potato with some cheese on the top. The furthest thing from a roast possible. Lovely staff, which makes it a massive shame. Wouldnât recommend for a roast but hopefully the rest of the menu is better.

Me and my boyfriend went here on Sunday for a roast dinner. I am a bit of a roast dinner snob but even I was so impressed. Great service, so quick and lovely staff.Had beef, which was cooked to perfection, and yorkshire puddings. The only tiny thing that would make it better for me is for the gravy to be slightly thicker (but I grew up further north than Andover so think this is catering to a Southern audience).Pudding was also delicious - had profiteroles and eton mess.Overall, brilliant!good evening Ellie,I'm pleased your enjoyed your Sunday roast with us yesterday and I love to hear that you're a roast dinner snob. I shall pass your feedback on to the team that worked yesterday. and we look forward to seeing you again in the near futurebest regardsLouis

Traditional village public house serving honest food
This is a very pleasant pub. We had an ok meal for lunch of a Ploughman's and draught cider (which was very good). The Ploughman's was quite pleasant but nowhere nearly as good as one we had the previous day at The George Inn in Verham Dean. Today we got one piece of cheddar and at the other we had three large pieces of different cheeses as well as a piece of meat pie and ham. It was less expensive, including with cider, than it was at this establishment. What we had today was good, and if we had not had a comparison, might of thought it was very good. Their other menu items did look very good and reasonably priced.Thank you for your feedback. We would like to say that all our meals are portioned for 1 person, and you infact we 2 people sharing. At your request we would have been more than happy to have created a mixed ploughmanâs including ham for 2 people giving you ample food. Unfortunately pies are not something we offer with our Ploughmanâs. We are sorry you were disappointed, however would love you to return so we can restore your faith with one of our superb freshly cooked dishes.
